redelk I can only speak for the wear of the Pilots. I don't know what the Dunlops or Bridgestones would do. Even when I was running a 200/50, the Michelins would last 30%~50% longer than the D207s. The last 3 D207s I ran on back would bearly make 2K miles before I saw metal cords. I've been replacing the rear Pilots around 2800~3200 miles and have yet to see a single cord.

As for the 180 vs. the 200, I do see any indication that the 180 is wearing faster (or slower) then the 200. The wear rate seems to be about the sam.

I might not be fast, but I'm SLOWER than you!
Edited by: redelk* at: 10/10/01 10:45:56 am

Hey Red, how you been. Do the 180's wear out faster?

Oh my god......I said something that had validity to it. Am I slowly coming out of my dumb ass cacoon.

redelk I run a 180/55 and a 120/60. Michelin Pilots. The 120/60 was overkill and I'll probably be going to a 120/65. I had the 180/55 on while I was at the Gap and it performed much better then the 200/50 did when I was there last May. I have about 2K miles on them and as far as the rear goes, I don't see me switching back to the 200/50 anytime soon.

I might not be fast, but I'm SLOWER than you!

I can't hold it anymore, I put 180 tires on my beast and it is the bomb baby. It feels like the shit wants to turn on its own. All I do is tap the steering, and everything falls in place. Gaw damn I love it. Maybe it's just the fact that I have new tires also. I don't care, this shit is the bomb!!!

Did they experience good results?

Tearinitup I have seen MANY 190/50 17's on the stock 6in 12 rim. NO PROBLEM.

Have you done it before Ihampel

It's a 6.0in rim...190's & 180's work fine.

do you mean putting a 190 on a stock rim? if so, I highly advise not to do it. Get different wheels then the tires to match them
