ninjayorkie This may sound odd but have you got play in the rear wheel cush drive rubbers, as slack in here would be transferred back into the gearbox.

The slack is easy to fix if you have an old push bike inner tube? just cut 4 pieces 1.5cm by 1cm squares and stick them to the back stops of the wheel and then replace the cush drive rubbers and the wheel will have no slack in it.

Clunking sound

Hi, My ZX9R (C1, 1998) has developed a clunking sound whenever I change throttle position (i.e. when I go to accelerate and when I slow down). The sound is similar to the clunk when I engage 1st from neutral. I'm hoping this is just the clutch plates needing changing, but before I go and open it up, can anyone tell me that this does sound like a clutch issue, or if it's something more serious.
