Tried to go for a ride. Bike started up fine. But then I hit the kill switch, to adjust a few things before the ride. Key was still in the on position. Instrument panel and headlight still on. A few seconds later, I turn the switch back on and hit the starter button to get going, and the whole thing dies. Instrument gauge, light, everything. I then turn the key to the off position, the gauge needles move up and back down, like it normally does when the key is initially turned on. But no lights or display activity. I've tried turning the key off and on, several times. Only getting the instrument panel to come to life a couple times. But even when that happens, it either does shortly thereafter, or when I hit the starter button it does again.

I've checked the IG (I assume this to be "ignition") fuse. But it's fine. And I even swapped it out for the spare, and same issue. The battery terminals are solid. And the battery is reading just shy of 12 volts. Could it just be the battety? Or does this sound like a different issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm at a loss.
