I have read every where that the 04-05 models did came with radial brakes,
and i suppose they are 4 pot calipers.
but on my 2005 model i have the 6 pot calipers.
was the radial calipers only available by optional extra at the dealer or they all came from factory with the radial fitted?

no, one previews owner.
but to be honest i don't think the previews keeper did change anything to the bike.
bike was completely stock with 8k miles.

Cus it sat in a dealers showroom until someone bought it,

It was then registered 'at' the current year.

Happens all the time with bikes.

Thanx Dave.

I've only heard of this in European locations. In the US, the bike's year is the model year--has nothing to do with the date it was first registered.

Trinitom is referring to the 05 bit (he's from the UK)

Which is part of the registration plates, numbers and letters 'make up', attached to the rear of the machine

Its an 2003 bike,

That has been first registered in 2005

That's how it works over here in the UK

Thanx Dave.

So the year stickers you put on your plates over there never change?

We have a month sticker that never changes (month first registered) and a year sticker that changes every year with registration payment.

Its not a year sticker its just a number plate
that at the current time is 2 letters 2 numbers 3 letters like NH 05 OMG
the 05 say's the NUBMER PLATE was made in 2005 ish but in the second half of the year it would be 55 for the year 2005.

eg the cars/ bikes new have 63 as its the end of the year.
Yes its daft
yes its the UK
yes it is

Old number plate

A 526 OMG

OMG 526 B (is very old )

Here the 1 letter was the year my old zzr1100 was W 334 DOA the W= year 2000

happy with a bit of UK History

It's interesting to know there is some form of logic applied to your license plates. Ours are a set of seven completely random alpha-numeric characters...unless a person buys personalized plates--not random then.

They were still selling left over A models in the UK during 2005 probably because they released the B model before the stocks of A models had all but gone.
Similar thing with the early model 14 still on sale today brand new from a dealer.
Date of registration means little, its the date of manufacture that counts as has been pointed out already.
