I got hold of some block off plates to help with more acurate tuning and to try and stop all the back firing. I want to remove the pump and and all the crap that comes with it.

Any advice on how to plug the holes that will be left when the hoses are removed and also is there anything els i need to do? I've heaard about people needing to mod the crank case, is this right?

Depends on what year your bike is mine needed a resister to remove the pump; otherwise F1 fault light comes on. I just found a stopper for the airbox and fitted plates dead easy mod and think of all that lovely space....ahhh.

Maybe the UK has something different but the my 02 didn't require any resister to remove the air valve switch (which most call the pump).

I plugged off the vacuum line going to the throttle bodies and found a plug that fir the airbox.

They changed the pump & pipe arrangment after a certain year mine is a B6F model and doesn't have the vacuum line to the pump, just the electrical connection + pipe in and pipe out. Comes straight from the airbox to the pump then splits into 2 and goes to either smog plate. Removing the pump throws a F1 light fault, hence adding resister stops it :).

Sounds like what the US 04/05 models have on them.
