Okay guys, we've given the date post 2 weeks, and everyone that is interested seems to be most comfortable with June 7th - 11th (possibly into the 12th).

I am planning on driving up there on the 7th, and will most likely have a motorhome.

Cookin' and I are going to try to keep this organized (or at least looking organized), so a few questions:

1) Is anyone else camping, and if so would you like to try to reserve campsites ahead of time. Also, if you are camping are you tenting or RV'ing ?

2) Who can bring tool support.

3) Are there any EMT's/Medical type people coming on this ride ?

4) Would anyone who is not camping be interested in any hotel discounts we might be able to come up with ?

Please post any thoughts/recommendations you may have for the ride.

Peace, Blitz.

Blitz, I'll be doing the hotel or RV deal depending on how I ultimately get there.

Hotel, camping, RV, I'm flexible with whatever.

As far as the EMT thing goes, I used to be a meat cutter and I'm pretty good at surgeries but controlling the bleeding can be a problem sometimes.

The dates (7-11/12) sound good to me.

Tool Support??? If I roll up there with someone with a truck I can load as many of my tools in there as we need. Drill press, welder, etc.

Guys...may have an possible alternate plan. We may be staying in Keystone, SD instead. It's 23 miles from Rapid City...centrally located in the Black Hills. I called around for hotels & Keystone actually quoted a better rate for us...go figure.

Anyway, here's how we stand so far. I checked the Holiday Inn Express in Keystone. With my corporate discount and the number of people / rooms I can get us a rate of $89.10 / night ($96 after taxes, etc). Right now I figured on 20+ people, 10 rooms minimum?

The rooms are either 1 king bed w/ a hideaway or 2 queens. The price include breakfast every morning, access to their conference room to hold meetings (cause we are holding a motorcycle organization conference - such a salesman am I). They have a indoor pool & jacuzzi...they also have 2 rooms available w/ a jacuzzi tub in them if anyone is interested (NinjaDude!).

What I'll probably end up doing is holding 2 more rooms than we actually need...just in case of last minute straglers. I can always cancel the rooms we don't need.

Let me know what you guys think. Here's a link so you can check out the hotel - www.sixcontinentshotels.c...isee=KESSD

Also, check out Keystone, SD on mapquest.com - it is right in the heart of the Black Hills!! The roads are calling....

Later, Cookin

Hey one other thing...for the people that are going - can you let me know how many people are coming with you. Please do not include other 12R.org members in your count - let me know who is coming that is not being counted on this site.

I have myself & possibly 1-4 others = 2-5 total for me.

Not sure how the hell I'm gonna get there, I may ride since it's about 800 miles from my house to the hills, I should be able to make it in a couple hours . I think it'd be a nice scenic ride. I gotta get some leather pants with pucks, and boots before I get out there. Then I gotta get some soft bags for the bike, then I gotta save some money....SHIT, I'll never get out there....

I am not sure if I can swing it, but I am trying.

However, in the case that I can, are there any other brave souls that are coming from the BC or Washington area or on the way that I could hook up with. I like riding with at least one other bike in case something goes wrong.

Thanks,

Since I am driving about 4300 kms a hotel will be a must for me. As much as I woold like to drive th 12... I will be coming in a van with the bike in it ..or bring a trailer in case others need to be picked up along my route. The date is good for me. Business is slow in early June as far as most years have gone. Ideal vacation time.

Those dates work for me. I will be heading out there with 1 or 2 Suzukis(Hayabus gsxr1000). We are interested in staying at the inn for the weekend, $96 bucks a day is fine, count me in for 1 room with 2 beds.

I am comming from Illinois and am willing to meet anyone on the way. My buddy on the busa is going for the iron butt award, I think I will be towing my wheels. As far as medics go I will probably bring the Pooch and she is willing to lick roadrashes for treates, healed my entire forarm in a month.

This is going to be a blast.

I'm going to reserve my RV spot next week, If anyone would like to coordinate reserving either an RV or tent spot also, please post and we'll coordinate.

I am bringing my grill, so we can definitely cook up some mesquite grilled steaks during our post riding b.s. sessions.

I just did the map thing. It specifies it is a 1711 mile pilgrimage at about 34 hours to Black Hills. Hell, don't think I'll live another 34 hours. Guess I 'll have to pass. I'm 2 hours from Deals Gap, 3 hours from Myrtle Beach, and 7 hours from Daytona. Can you meet me at one of them instead? BTW, I'm liquored up big time right now!

Just back from AZ.....I'll be there one way or the other. Supposed to snow here tomorrow, guess it's time to start daydreaming about those Hills.

I rode a couple of hours Friday. It was mid 70s. Then got all liquored up Friday Night. Those in the Chat Room late Friday can confirmed that, big time! Saturday was even warmer. But, head hurt too much to enjoy riding. Just stayed on couch most of day and drink Bloody Marys. I hate it when I miss a good opportunity to ride.

Ninja Dude - I bet your missing AZ already.
