Just got home!!

Friday; skeeter, kawiracer, blitz, mal, denver, okd, and myself. I showed up by noon, so I got some riden in. The rest showed up later, set up and got ready for Saturday. Mal, found that he had no clip on his master, and OKD had just plum wore his tire out by the time he got there. A trip to Rapid in the morning was in store.

Saturday; weather was foggy and overcast in the morning, but we all ran into town except blitz. The guys at the Kawi shop treated us well. OKD paid to much for his tire, but had to have it. Made it back to camp by a little after 10:00a.m. Ended up putting on about 120 miles that afternoon. Doesn't sound like much, but most of it was in 2nd and 3rd gear. Nice roads and not much traffic. On the way back to camp, a couple of us got seperated. Needless to say Skeeter, that wild man, got pulled over, but through his begging. pleading and giving up names <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> was able to get out of it. More to come out of this story!!!

Sunday; I trailered up to Sturgis with all good intensions of meeting them in Deadwood for the ride to Devils Tower. Nice in Keystone, total crap at the north end of the hills. Didn't feel like ride'n in the rain again!! More on that story I'm sure. Couldn't say if they made the ride or not, I filled my coffee cup and headed north. 385 miles of the same weather!! Rain and wind.

Skeeter, kawiracer, and OKD where headed home today, so that left the Colorado boys there till tuesday. There will be more stories!!!!!

Let up for a second, and that's where you finish!!</p>

i discovered that i am much faster through the twisties in my F250 than on a ZX-12. especially in the tight turns, and the ones that just keep on turning. i especially didn't like the road that kept crossing the railroad tracks, 8 times? in 1/2 a mile it seemed like. who designs the roads up there anyway?

Has it been raining in the Black Hills since april 1998??<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

I went riding through there then and spent a week waiting for the rain to clear and it wouldn't, so I p**sed off.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">

You might think me riding through there is no big deal but I'm from Sydney, Oztralia.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

I made it home too... Sure was fun but I sure am tired now. BTW, we need to make it very clear that with the Red, Silver and Green ZX-12's represented in the Black Hills, it was in fact the faster GREEN that was always up front<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">

Can't beleive you rode the 800 miles in one day? Well maybe I can. ??? Did the Colorado boys make the Tower run??? I drug the bike to Sturgis, and it didn't even get out of the trailer. After getting caught in the storm the night before, just didn't feel like ride'n in the rain.

OKD glad to hear you made it home safe. You guys really know how to ride, OKD thanks for trying to come to my rescue the other day. I think you took the same amount of time to cover 800 miles as we did 519.

Boy, what a blast we had at the Black Hills.

Nedragr - we looked for you at the Wal-Mart and Kmart in Rapid City, when we couldn't find your rig, we figured you had enough fun in "The Perfect Storm" Saturday Night!

Saturday night a bunch of the guys went for an evening ride, an unbelievable storm shot in in the period of about 15 minutes. Rain, wind, hail and Denver had two very close deer encounters. Not a fun ride for those guys.

We did 330 miles on Sunday. Kawiman took us to the destination of Devils Tower hitting every curvy road we could find along the way. We went up a long, black, curvy piece of glass smooth heaven we appropriately named "Sex for Motorcycles". It is the best piece of curvy asphalt I can remember hitting in a long, long, time.

The strech of road from Four Corners to Sundance is a thirty mile stretch of run it as fast as you desire smooth asphalt with many 130+ mph sweepers.

OKD didn't just drag his knees, he pulled some pretty cool wheelies.

Look for Skeeter soon on Americas Most Wanted. I'll let OKD tell the story, its hilarious!

All in all in was a blast, I'll post the pics later, I'm too tired right now.

The Colorado group came home today because my knee was really giving me fits after 500+ curvy miles in 2 days. I never claimed to be an Iron Butt!

I do want to thank Nedragr for playing tour guide on Saturday and Kawiman for playing tour guide on Sunday. It made the trip so much more enjoyable.

What a trip!

Even though we had some sketchy weather at times the roads in in the Black Hills area are unbelievable. Everything from 10mph switch backs to 130mph sweepers.

I'm tired........my tires are just about toasted......and I got meet some really cool people.

OKD can really ride his 12 in the twisties, I was very impressed!

It was a good trip and everyone kept the shiny side up........definitely a good time!

Good to see you guys made it home in one piece. My apologies for making the run for home. Actually made it all the way up to Belle Fourche before 8:00 a.m. Waited for Kawiman to ride by on his way to Deadwood hoping to catch him to let you guys know. Did the weather turn for you guys??? The lady in the gas station couldn't give me a definitive answer outside of chance of rain and 30 mph winds. It was a good time even with the questionable weather and the law breathing down our necks courteously of the SKEETER.

by the time you finish this story you will have us all being pursued at high speeds by every law enforcement official in the state and all of us being led away in cuffs.

come to think of it that is pretty close to what happened isn't it?

by the way i did have it pointed out to me by the nice officer, who said "do not run up to my car," that it may be more polite to let the officer come to me, heck i was just trying to save him some leg work. besides i don't think i was running, i just didn't want to make him have to get out of his car. It was all happening pretty fast.

at least in my mind.

On Saturday we took a nice ride through the hills including the wildlife park and the needles road. There is some mighty pretty country in that area even if Malcom was trying to case the buffalos thought the preserve doing 124 MPH on the GPS <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/nerd.gif ALT="8o"> You also need to watch out for DenverYZF, he can make that half a twelve screem, picturing him on a twelve is a very scary image <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

I'm used to riding mountain roads but those hills have some real wild turns where the road can make a turn that is greater than 360 degrees by going over the top of it's self similar to an over pass clover leaf but more radical<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Skeeter was taking it easy and was bringing up the rear making sure that we all made it without any problems<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> We had an agreement to stop at every intersection to make sure we were all still in the group. Toward the end of the day we made a right hand turn and stopped about 50 yards from the intersection. I guess Skeeter didn't see us until he had gone by. Because he didn't want to turn around in the middle of a busy highway he pulled off onto a side road to turn around.

Mean while, looking for an excuse to go fast, I volunteered to go catch Skeeter. Traffic was heavy and I blasted by a whole string of cars doing about 135 before rolling off the throttle and diving into a corner. Unfortunately, there was a sheriff sitting on the side of the road at the exit to the corner who was very unimpressed with what I had just done. Since there was a long string of cars between me and him, I just kept going.

I guess Skeeter must have seen me go by because he pulled out in front of the sheriff to go find me. After I got through the town of Hill I decided there was no way he as in front of me and I turned around only to see Skeeter coming after me with a sheriff on his tail<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">

I guess Skeeter didn't want to lead him back to the rest of us so he pulled over (bear in mind that we were all on ZX-12's and the sheriff probably didn't know one from the other). Skeeter explained how he was a slow, model rider and had gotten separated from his group. I guess it worked because the sheriff let him go.

As I said, Skeeter is my best riding buddy. Who else would act as a decoy and pull over for the cops after I had just gone by <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/nerd.gif ALT="8o">

Oh it was a good time in the Black Hills. I need to get the pictures out of the camera and post some...
