Just got home!!

Friday; skeeter, kawiracer, blitz, mal, denver, okd, and myself. I showed up by noon, so I got some riden in. The rest showed up later, set up and got ready for Saturday. Mal, found that he had no clip on his master, and OKD had just plum wore his tire out by the time he got there. A trip to Rapid in the morning was in store.

Saturday; weather was foggy and overcast in the morning, but we all ran into town except blitz. The guys at the Kawi shop treated us well. OKD paid to much for his tire, but had to have it. Made it back to camp by a little after 10:00a.m. Ended up putting on about 120 miles that afternoon. Doesn't sound like much, but most of it was in 2nd and 3rd gear. Nice roads and not much traffic. On the way back to camp, a couple of us got seperated. Needless to say Skeeter, that wild man, got pulled over, but through his begging. pleading and giving up names was able to get out of it. More to come out of this story!!!

Sunday; I trailered up to Sturgis with all good intensions of meeting them in Deadwood for the ride to Devils Tower. Nice in Keystone, total crap at the north end of the hills. Didn't feel like ride'n in the rain again!! More on that story I'm sure. Couldn't say if they made the ride or not, I filled my coffee cup and headed north. 385 miles of the same weather!! Rain and wind.

Skeeter, kawiracer, and OKD where headed home today, so that left the Colorado boys there till tuesday. There will be more stories!!!!!

Let up for a second, and that's where you finish!!

Damn,

I am really tired, but I wanna go back already!! The roads in the mountains of central Colorado are fun, but can't compare the the roads Nedragr and Kawiman took us on!!

Beautiful scenery, great pavement, almost no traffic and very few LEO's made for a GREAT TIME.

Nedragr, Kawiracer, Mal, OKD, and I did get into one hell of a storm riding back to camp from Rapid City Saturday night. Nothing like 60mph wind, rain, and hail on a twisty road to get your heart pounding! Mal and I made it back together, but had to come to a sliding halt about a 1/2 mile from camp thanks to Bambi and friends!

Everyone who showed up was VERY COOL and I was very glad to meet them! They even had pity and took it easy on me and the little YZF!!

If there is another ZX-12 gathering next year, count me in!

You just can't beat riding great roads with great folks....thanks everyone!!

Damm, I wish I could have been there, I'm sorry I missed it and will cry till next year. Did you guys have a chance to ride US 14 between Spearfish and Cheyenne Crossing? www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?zoom=5&mapdata=hP0urGiog%2bdDjDrjiKxVtZ3mBOr74Usxt0fy1ZenoXmoGSrCBavDlzXsVmQ%2bdhNqKJ7NRo8AnikRd%2bWCJvityuTXqGMnrS%2bcmBi3lXQQ1cfaLvyJSYiMJiIjG3Stvls%2bdspy2EmjGzEOXhUTOie2zYKgJnaDJisZZ62%2f3nnXfCpfvz0P5nl%2fWHl6b9QoH2qgWtbP2xZt7P2vqRX%2bvw91sP9coT%2f%2bXMXzB9N28hmp6uSKVBjW2UuEtrcoaBE9PuEn4hqmH1h5QLNQbb4xWNLrBAJFtppQlsC72cq5I%2bFN0Iw%3d

Oh Yeah, about those damm tunnels, watch out for em next time. I had an incident when I was down there, where some guy from Texas, didn't check behind him before backing up his camper trailer to clear the tunnel for an oncoming truck. Unfortunately I was behind him on a downslope of the road with my front brake holding me from rolling into him. He didn't see me and backed right into me while I was hitting the horn and trying to back up a hill with just the tips of my damm feet. There was over a 1000 of damage and it took me 6 months to get my deductable refunded from his insurance company.

Yep,

We rode that one on Sunday!! Freshly paved and very little traffic........AWESOME stretch of road!

Were you guys going slow enough to notice the little waterfall on east side of the road? I didn't notice it till I'd been through it a few times cuz I was having so much fun!

Pretty amazing that in 3800 miles I only got a hand full of pictures I think I spent too much time in the saddle and not enough time sight seeing...

But I did get a few...

Here are the bikes lined up while we were inside enjoying lunch in the Black Hills on Saturday:

We visited Crazy Horse:

And of course Mount Rushmore:

I hope others got some pictures that they can post...

Blitz, All I get is a logon page

Wow, glad you guys had an excellent time! Sounds like OKD is the trouble maker of the group! Skeeter, he owes you big!

Blitz, couldn't view your pics?!

Oh, by the way, maybe for us "straight land" folks who don't get to see all the fine roads, we need to put together a

"route archive", showing everyone's favorite routes throughout the country! I think that would be a cool page to visit when planning trips.

I'm gonna set up a webpage on my internet host tomorrow. Bear with me, I'll try to have the photos posted tomorrow. I'm tired of wasting my time with the printroom.com type sites.....

I hope I can get a good list of roads from you guys because Lord willin and the creek don't rise I'm there next summer!!! Nice group bike photo, who drives what??? I guess I can figure out some of the owners.

BMW, you almost had it right... I had the green with the mirrors (I put them back on for the trip), the first green was nedragr who has a bar end mirror that I liked. The sliver 12 is Skeeter, the primer gray is Kawiracer, the zx11 is Mal. Let us know when you plan on your trip to the hills, you never know who might show up to ride with you

I thought I remembered yours having the green windscreen but the mirrors threw me off. I'll keep you posted on a Black Hills trip, we do our summer planning around Christmas. I know Black Hills is going to be a hard sell because os the distance and no one that I normally ride with has any personal experience with that part of the country. Personally I'm going to put it on my calendar if no one else around here goes.

Hey DenverYZF......Did you ever clean the inside of your helmet after you sneezed in it saturday evening????? LMFAO........That was the funniest thing all weekend!!!!!! I had a blast!! It was nice to finally put some faces to the names.

I think the rain an hour later took care of any sneeze remnants!!

where is that picture of mal exploring below the bridge in the background of that picture?

LOL....There was a lot of exploring done that day.. I explored on the side of the highway at 4 corners. Nice when you can see 4 miles either way. Nothing beats taking a piss right out in the middle of nowhere when the closest town is 20 miles away..

My new can should be here tomorrow! Waawho, I am complete... a little late though

I got more pics, but I didn't think they would be anything anyone would be interested in. Yep, mostly riding for everyone - not alot of photo shoots.....

The sounds of peace & tranquility have returned to the hills, now that the wild & crazy people have gone home. Oh I'm sorry, that is the sound of boredom, & having to ride these roads all alone until next year. I hope you all make it back next year & bring some friends.

Yes we had a great ride to Devils Tower on sunday. Thanks to Blitz, Mad Mal, & DenverYZF, for taking it easy on me & my not quite broke in bike.

Passed a deputy sheriiff yesterday who had a lost look on his face. He was mumbling something about NM plates & got to find that fast green one. You wouldn't know what he was talking about would you okd? Not to worry your secret is safe with me. I hope to meet skeeter next year, that is a good riding partner who distracts the MAN from the faster green models.

Mal, & DenverYZF they really know how to hussle their bikes thru the corners. nedrager, the weather was sunny & warm in Deadwood & all thru the hills sunday. Sorry to have missed you. I only work in Belle. I live in Deadwood so thats why you didn.t see me. We will get to do it again next year though. By the way enjoy the new KX.

Thanks for coming up guys. You all brought some fun & good times to a boring place. Although the roads are never boring here.
