Yep.... The Bad Ass Blue Hindle breathing beast got taken out today...

Was coming up on this intersetion that I know well... it is know for serious accidents.. have seen plenty there myself...

Link turns yellow, so knowing the history of the interestion (everyone cutting the lights short) I decide to do the RESPONSIBLE thing and NOT GAP IT through the light...

Im slowing and downshifting.. (we where only doing like 45 to begin with).

Im almost stopped, getting ready to put my foot down and BAMMMMMM... Fucker clubs me from the back....

Hit me pretty good... "Cop says, I thought you where gonna save it".. Bike wanted to go left and somehow I managed to low side it and at the same time ride it like a surf board.. lol..

I jumped to my right and ended up on my feet standing in the intersection.. Turned and looked at the guy and threw my hands up and was heading in his direction.."to give him some damage of his own"... About that time Sheriff pulls up.. was sitting at the light saw the hole thing....

Damage:

Me.. ok... slightly tweaked ankle. (glad im still pretty agile"

Bike...

Crushed Hindle Pipe
Left blinkers,
Pegs,
Engine Cover
Mirror
Upper Fairing
Lower Fairing
Wing
Tail Section may be tweeked
Shifter
Left Handlebar
and all the other typical shit...
Tire, Rim, Swing Arm.. We will have to see on...

MFing Cages....

Just glad you are okay Boost. The rest can be fixed...

Don't blame you for being pissed, you have a right to be.

Get that ankle in a Saltz Bath.

Take care bro.

Jack!

First of all, you are lucky you are not in the hospital or worse. You just dodged a major bullet. What a relief to hear that your injuries are minor.

The bike will get fixed or you'll get another, so don't spend a lot of time worrying about that. Count your blessings.

This is the kind of accident that we all fear.......we have no control over this kind of thing. It is good you had a police witness.

Take care,
Dave

Oh shite Boost, that sucks! I'm glad to hear you're ok though. As Blitz said, bikes can be replaced or repaired.

Take care!

I'm just getting back in from Mexico City, Mexico (business trip) and this is the first thing I see when I first log in.

Damn Jack, that sucks big time! Relieved to hear you're okay. Don't sweat the bike. Our toys can be replaced - we can't.

Let me know if I can help you out with anything.

That sux but at least you are OK. I bet those new 2003 models should be out almost any day now. I would demand a brand new one with a shiny new aftermarket pipe. Don't accept a repaired bike if it is anything other than plastic damage.

Damn, Glad your ok Boost. Those accidents are my biggest fear, getting plowed when your sitting at a light and can't really see too good behind. Same happened to my buddy. He wasn't as lucky as you. Hope your out in the wind soon.

Thanks guys..... For allowing me to vent and for the good thoughts....

Actually the dude never really talked to me, only when the cop was with him...

But frankly he looked like he was going to cry!!!!! I thought maybe it was in fear of what I was going to do to him if the cop left... BUT later I found out what the REAL reason was!!!

I called his house getting some additional insurance info and got him on the phone... the kid was 18 and his mother "spanish and you know how they are when they get cranked up... " was crawling all OVER his ass!!! My wife and I where actually laughing about it..

He ask if it would be possible it we just settled it with cash... Of course I like cash, but said... " Do you have any idea what type of money you are talking about? " of course he did not so I enlightened him and said "Several Thousand"....

He said hold on a min... and next thing I heard was his mother all over his ass again.... Last thing I hear was.. and I quote.. " we go through the insurance, but you will be walking for the rest of your life!!!!" Mother to Son... of course... LOL..

OO well it will work out..

I actually could of road the bike to the shop, but decided to have it hauled in just to be safe.

The tail section is definetly pushed up a bit, so DAMN... looks like I might have to get an undertail....

Its primarily cosmetic, but I want to have the ass end inspected just to be sure...

I smell a Yosh and an Undertail at least..

Something good will come out of this im sure......

Good to hear you're OK Boost. There's not much defense against a rear-ender.

Remember, that whiplash takes a few days to kick in and you might be feeling differently in a few days.

Glad to hear your Ok Boost. Also glad to hear your not in jail for manslaughter. That Kid sounds lucky to have had a police officer around. After his mom is done with him he might wish he were in jail.

best of luck...
