Hey everyone.
I just bought an '05 ZX-12R.
The chain feels a bit loose.
The bike didn't come with an owners manual.
My last bike recommended 20-30mm of slack.
Same for my ninja or is it different?
On that topic, what's the cheapest place to pick up an owners manual?
I found one on ebay for $50, seems a bit steep.
Thanks everyone.

How are you measuring that precisely dude?

I've always got to the tight point and then measure the spec distance (in this case 35mm) from the top of the chain where it rests and then push it up as far as it will go and then measure that distance...

is that right?

:headscratch:

FSM states:

Chain Slack:
Standard: 25 ∼ 35 mm (0.98 ∼ 1.4 in.)

Torque - Rear Axle Nut: 125 N·m (13 kgf·m, 92 ft·lb)

FWIW, I keep mine adjusted near the tight end of the specs as it seems to help with the twitchy throttle by minimising the backlash in the final drive.
