Gooday Friends,
Had a weird thing happen today, started bike and the
clock and trip meters had reset themselves to zero and clock to 1:00.
:headscratch::headscratch:
I'm new to this bike (2006 model) so I'm curious about this.
Clock seems to loose time also.
Anyone else had this happen ???
Any Ideas why ????

Your battery may be dying!

Loose battery connection could be on its way to a click-click and lights out, the lights come back on after the arc at the cable leads. Ask me how I know? = Is one variable explaining the reset of the clock.

I'll check the connections.
I may as well look at getting a new battery..not sure how old this one is.
Any recommendations on a good battery.
Side note : I'm in Australia so some of them may not be available to me
(as the shipping from overseas would be a killer).

I can get a lithium battery if needed , a trickle charger is great with them ! if you want one let me know , you will get it for trade (for what I get it for ) :thumbup:

While the battery tray is out check the solenoid terminals and plug are clean and secure.

Hey Guys,
After getting the seat and Tank cover etc off
and finding a disturbing number of LOOSE bolts/screws in the process::eek:hno:
I managed to have a look at the Battery.....Ya gotta love Kawasaki :banghead:
I probably would've put it under the pass seat for easy access but that's me !!!
What a hassle, glad I wasn't on the side of the road trying to work out how
remove the damned thing.
One of the leads kept getting caught up and wouldn't let the tray come out.:cussing:
From the looks of it, it maybe the original battery.
KOYO YTX12 BS.
I checked & cleaned/tightened all the connections, so we'll see how she
goes next week while I look for a replacement.

LOL , you are 100% right with the battery ,what a Sh*t set up !!
I guess kawa did it for a reason thou ?

If you leave the top bolt out that holds the battery box cover, its way easier to remove next time ;)

Come on its not a big job, and your not exactly in there every week :thumbup: only takes 5 mins to pop the seats and tank cover :)....
Get over your self ! you as well as I know its a fuckup in design !! I didn't say it was a big job , I said it was a pain in the arse for a battery !:tard:
It maybe something your very good at as you Never ride your bike !!
