I want to repair it just because no budget now to put in a new frame.Any advice on the alloy used on zx12r frames and or type of welding material would help.I dont buy the bike brand new and it looks like the engine was removed before for some reason I dont know. What can cause this type of failure on this frame,The bike dosent look like have an accident before.

This crack not afect the feeling of the bike in any aspect,I'm sure a good welder put this frame to rock again.

I'm afraid that I don't know the specfics, but I can tell you that repair is possible.

The ZX-14 had some issues with the frames cracking in a similar location, and several people had competent welders make the repair.

On that note, the damage on the 14 was caused by improper tightening of the motor mount adjusting collars. I would suspect that the same has happened to your frame.
