Can you ever have too much speed? This bike just keeps giving and giving , the only thing limiting this bike it the wide open space to ride. Any one know about top speed runs out at the salts ?

When I first purchased my 12 in March I traded it in for my 9. I think I was expecting this thing to be really fast and I was not disappointed. When I took it out of the showroom it already had 3k on it so I ran it straight over to my mates house approximately 100k away. As soon as I got on to a clear straight I just let rip. I was amazed how this thing pulled and where my 9 would run out of steam at 170 this thing was only getting started. I arrived at my mates house with a huge fuck off smile right across my face. I think he thought I had just sniffed some coke or something.

Since that day I have never looked back. I would not sell her, only to get another 12. Since April I have done 14k on her and loved every mile. I have spent this winter doing loads of mods and hopefully around March time she will be finished. All I can say is she is going to look a real treat.

Sorry, but I'm One of the ones saying Moderately. Either my 2000 model 12 is slow (comparatevely,) or my previous 9 was quick! See half the problem is that I don't know the previous history of the 9 that I had (C1,) is! It was capable (by the speedo, and YES I know they are not accurate,) of 100km to 300km and back to 60 within 1k without using brakes and plenty of room to spare (don't ask where!) It's not until you hit third or above at high speed that the 12 REALLY seems to make it's mark! However in the 12's defence I just had a ride against a modified '98 R1, and where I would have had the 9 to it's stops, the 12 was only at 7 - 8000 rpm and losing sod all on the corners (bumpy roads, and I've only had the 12 for a week!)

The 12 is SO capable as both a touring (sorry about the swear word,) and a hyper sport that most bikes FEEL pedestrian in comparison! I run my bikes with a HARD suspension for FAST road work (too fast,) and I'm not too afraid (except in 1st,) to open it right up (I'm 63kg and 5'8".) The only trouble I have is keeping the front end down (same as my previous 9.)

Keep it black side down!</p>

I traded a 01 zx9 for a 00 zx12r. I noticed a big difference from 2nd gear on up. I really appreciate the power wish I could get more at takeoff.

I am in continuous amazement at the forcefulness of the acceleration this machine is capable of. I have owned a ZX7, a ZX9 and a ZX11, so this bike was naturally the next logical step for me. I love the concept of INDY car performance at such an affordable price!

Yes it did at first being that I have previously owned a 1991 Katanna 1100, 1994 ZX-11D, and 1999 Busa. The 12R is the fastest of the bunch but my first 2000 Zx-12R the one I lost my hind-end on when it was stolen had alot of fit and finish problems but other than that it was a hoot until here last year when I bought a Muzzy big bore 1271cc 2000 ZX-12R, Only one thing can describe the difference between it and a stock 12R is WHEWWWWW. big power difference. Where my stock 12R put 158 rwhp this thing puts 189 RWHP. The only way to describe the difference is like hopping off a 600cc sportbike and ridding a 1000cc + liter bike this is in comparison from a stock 12R to a 1271 Muzzy 12R. You have to be real careful this thing gives you tunnel vision on the street it accelerates that fast. It is one of the reasons I am selling it. by the way it is posted here at this site. David
