My first street bike was a brand new 1985 FJ1100 and I had just turned 17 years old. At the time, it was the fastest production motorcycle on the planet. While I wouldn't recomend something like that for most teenagers, I did just fine. And other than a little mishap with a wheelie, I never wrecked it. I put nearly 30,000 miles on that bike.
