I love it best when they get caught or give up and then sell themselves down the river by opening up their yaps. For example.. a few weeks ago on "cops" some punk saw the cops turning around to come after him and goosed it, hoping they wouldn't bother. They did and he stopped after driving in the predictable straight line. After he got pulled over his lips went into overdrive about how many times he has done it and not gotten caught etc.... what a loser! He talked himself right smack into the pokey! Best laugh I have had in weeks.

running

I think every rider at some point thinks he/she can out run the cops. Most don't try they just like the thought that they are good enough to do so. The few left try and keep tring until they get caught. In my younger inexperienced days :) I ran quite a bit. Until 2 cruisers and a few cops knocked on my door  They didn't get me but they got a good description and partial plate number. It wasn't hard to track me down from there. To make a long story short. It didn't cost me anything, except lots of bad looks, days in court, and frequent pull overs for nothing at all (busting my [email protected]). I've run a couple of times recently on the zx12 but only under certain conditions. I don't look to run and if doing 90mph or less I always pull over. Above 90mph it just depends. Here you could lose your license for up to a year, something I can't afford to do. running should never be the first way out of a cituation only the last imo. I respect the law and the officers that up hold it. I just don't see why on a out-of-the-way road with nothing around, at 5:00am you just can't hit some highspeeds without getting in trouble. :(

Sone dude ran from me 3 years ago on a 6R......top speed on radar I got him at was 243 in a 50 zone ( near schools I was pissed )

2 weeks AFTER the fact I'm at the local bike shop, and this 18 yr old idiot is spouting off how he outran "some fucking moron pig in a black CRown Vic". Same bike.....hmmmmmm I thought.

I casually saunter over, shoot the shit, get his name, pretending I want to hook up with him for a ride.....and he went on and on and on and on......

Delivered the Summons the next day. Lost his licence for 6 months and a big ass fine.

On the highway, no prob....jet away....I dont care.

In the city you're gonna kill someone, maybe yourself. Thats what makes me mad.

Good story Chris. It's funny how these idiots always have to brag about their run from the law. Like it's some badge of honor  . I would have loved to see his face when you handed him the piece of wood.

I couldn't agree with you more on riding in town either. Most of the riders around here know the game plan. Keep it low and slow in the towns center, save the over the limit stuff for the back roads and I have no problem.

I hate to say it, but I have placed myself in the situation where I found myself "running" I didn't like the way I felt afterwards. Most of it was on the highway, then side streets to a point where I got home. I wouldn't do it again on purpose. I couldnt bring myself to ride for a week, thinking they were looking for me, etc... and they probaly were, not like my bike is destinctive or anything. Then a few nights later, I was in a small group listening to others around me talking about how they do the same thing...
no wonder why they are pulling bikes over all the time... heck we have even seen some taking pictures of bikes and taking notes...

There was a local kid, 18 I think they said (it was in the paper), anyways he was apparently running from the one of the officers in a small town down the road sometime after midnight last Saturday night. He turned off a 4 lane hwy. onto a county Rd. and they thought they lost him.
He was found around 10:00 am Sunday morning in a field, he had missed a turn and went through a fence. What a shame...

I was just talking to 2 old friends last night, they got themselves old 7R's. They told me that they only had their permits, I told them that they would screw up their licenses if they got pulled over. Guess what they said...

Two kids (my age, 24-25) who know nothing about riding on powerful bikes doing wheelies and 130MPH. They are going to be seen by cops, but they aren't worried because their fast bikes could get them away

Two more fucking idiots. I just hope they only hurt themselves and not innocent bystanders.

Ever beat a cop on a 12.

I wasn't aware that police officer's rode ZX-12R's. I was under the assumption that Harley's and BMW's were the bike's of choice. One learn's something new every day, doesn't one? Thank you for the information. :?
It is so refreshing to see these informative posts done by such intellectual's. I'm glad to have been a part of it all.

Thanks again.

Yep AVS, they are out there. It ( the over weight cop thing) was much more prevelant when I first started. I glad to say that many in uniform now are taking better care of themselves. I have jumped all of 1" in my waistline since the academy, which was 16 years ago. I'm 40 now and in better shape than when I was 30, plan on staying that way as long as possible. There's not much more disgusting than seeing a fat cop in uniform IMHO.
