It's my observation that my TBR can performs a little better than stock can at higher rpms. But, it doesn't feel quite as strong coming off the line at low rpms (i.e., 2.5k to 3k rpms - routine starts in traffic) as the stock can. I wonder if exhaust back pressure helps at the lower rpms and hurts at higher rpms? Also, the bike runs a little hotter with the TBR can. Don't get me wrong, I still love the TBR's looks and sound and that's why I bought it. Just a thought... just a thought...

Mark - could it be that you are running the bike harder now - without the stock can and making it run hotter because you enjoy the sound of the mighty 12 upstairs??

Mark...unforunately that is true.
I have even toyed with the idea of fabricating
an exhaust valve into the end of the header,
as Yamaha and Honda does on there sport models.
In my recent search for an exhaust,
I could find no pipe that didn't suffer some low end loss.
In alot of cases, 5 - 10 HP and even 10 FTlbs torque was lost
between 1500 and 3000.

Now what is my Muzzy full system with a PcIIIr doing for me... Also what would removing the KLEEN air stuff do for me besides backfires and any side effects..Muzzys billet reed block covers are 89.00 i be cheap....... also i was thinking abot getting a Muzzy Bonneville Box now will that just give me top end or what....I know i talk a BAM lot but hey...what the BAM...

Ron is right, you can't have it all. If you want power up top, you are going to lose some down low. You can help drivibility though by proper mapping and the pilot jet mod helps also. BTW Ron, I have the Yosh running perfectly. No hesitation, no stumble, and no backfiring. The new Yosh map is right on.

vozizm, I'm assuming your are talking about the Muzzy block off plates when you say "reed block covers". I don't think they do anything for you except reduce the backfiring. I think Spencercycle sells 'em for about $35.
