I could feel the force pulling me. I was powerless against it...it controlled my every thought, weeks...nay, months of sleepless nights "C/F Akro, C/F Akro, C/F Akro....." it's all I could hear from the demons in my head.

Soon I could take it no longer - "DAMN THE DEMONS" said I...."DAMN THE DEMONS ALL TOO HELL"!! I was forced to give into the power and never-ending quest for more power & killer exhaust tunes......

Ok, sorry...I'm back on track here - as you can tell I'm a slight bit excited!

Silver - by the way, this is kind of your fault you SOB!! I mean this in a good way...your constant assistance, guidance & suggestions were the start to the demons! Thanks man!!!

Speed...your hitting the almighty wheelie nerve. Please be very careful here, I have seen many a grown man gone wrong by another hitting the wheelie nerve wrong! It is not to be messed with.

In other words...I'm a wheelie freak & if you have a map for Akro's that allows 4th gear sky - send it over to daddy! I'll owe you a couple drinks in the hills!!!

I'm kind of new to the PC3R deal...so not sure if you can email the maps...if you can, can you email it to me? My email - [email protected]

Thanks dude!

Cookin, I've got some timing map's that I'll send you.

I would bet the fuel map on dynojet's website is as

good as any (otherthan custom). I haven't riden since

I put my Akra, and K&N's on and it's torture. Honestly

I'm not impressed with the sound of the Akra, but the

ponies will make up for that.

Tenn,

just wait till you hit open road and open it up!!! I was a little disappointed myself when I first fired it up, but you'll get to like it. It's a pretty docile sound at idle but gets wicked on the interstate!

Damn Blitz, did I hit a nerve? You gotta understand that

I just took a Two Brother's Racing pipe off, and they are a

bit different. Akra just doesn't hit that low note.

No dude. No sore note. Just wanna see you enjoying that Akro for what it's worth....it's got an exhaust note that just sings when you get it above 4k...... Personally I like the lower rpm sound, perhaps you're just used to LOUD?

Cookin' sorry man I've got a full Muzzy's. I got the map from a friend with the same set-up after he dynoed with the help of Rob and some others at Muzzy's. I also got a map from someone across the pond who says it gets rid of the 3500rpm bog but haven't loaded it yet...too damn cold to ride now! Damn it!

You're gonna like the difference with the PCIII and pipe trust me. Try the Akro map on the muzzy site and see how you like it.

Cool!! Thanks everyone for your help - It's about 5 degrees here this morning so I won't be doing much riding over the next couple months. I'll play around with the maps you all suggested & see which one works the best.

Silver, I'm running 17/46 for now...your running 17/48 right? Do you know what the top spped for 17/48's is? I'm not really into open class / top speed running so if the 17/48's run me into the 180's...I think I'll do it too.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

Cookin,

I'd leave the gearing the way it is for now and get out there and see how you like it with the new pipe. I like the 17/48 (3rd gear wheelies on accident ) but for a while I was very happy with the 17/46. I think new top speed with the 48 is around 175 or so, derestricted.

I'm 17/46 right now also. I'm wanting the 48, but I'm

afraid that highway trip's might suck. Anyone have any

input on that?

I run 17/48 on the interstate all the time. It's not like a car where if you change the rear from, say 3.36 to 4.11. The rpms go up a little but not much cause the rpm band you've got to work with is much bigger than on a car. If you're curious about the 48, try it out, they're not real pricy. From a lower speed roll on, the bike can be a handful, but at over 100, roll on acceleration is nothing short of insane. It's almost hard to hang on to the bitch

Silver, TENN's got a good point...what RPM are you running at 70 or 80 MPH? Actually, I typically run at about 85-90 here - lot's of open roads!

This may play into choosing the 46 or the 48.....

Thanks guys

At 70, the rpms (with 17/4 will go up by a little less than 400. This is ideal though, with tire circumferences never the same, clutch slip, etc. Ever play with the little rpm calculator??? neat little toy.....

My checkbook is cringing ........ My 12 lifts off in 3rd with the slightest hump in the road, and it's 100% stock.I must be getting used to the power,as it seems a bit "soft" sometimes.Might do some tweaking in the Spring.Ackro sure seems to be the right pipe.Only thing that makes me a bit reluctant is stuff like loading diff. maps. Everything new I try to do on this damn thing(puter) gives me trouble. My bud just got an R1 with mods, and he weighs like a gram or so.Can't let an R1 spank me!
