Well tonight was my first time at the track you my 02. It is stock but lowered 1 1/2 in rear and 1 inch in front. I made 3 passes first one ok 10:54 136 mph 60ft 1.780. After that it just kept getting slower. How do you get it to hook up? I came out at 3 1/2 rpms and row the gas on and it would start spinning after the 60ft mark or it would brake loss when I shifted into 2nd. I have the 16/44 gears and a strap coming monday but if I cant hook up now how will a lower gear help?

lower your air pressure in your back tire to 25lbs,do not go into the waterbox, and just a small burnout just till the smoke comes off the tire.Is your track cold?what track?

I'll bet a dollar to a krispy kreme you have a track problem, not a setup problem. I ran my stock tire at 40psi and ONLY had traction problems when the track was damp from dew.

i have the rebound and daming turned to the solfest piont, the track is well lets just say its a straight away with timing lights. I do a soft burnout with the stock tires coming out at around 3-4000 rpms and no VHT.

if not, I gotta tell you that I'd suggest more of a burnout. I've gotten 1.5x 60' times over and over on a stock Dunlop and stock arm.

Don't get the front tire through the water obviously, and during the burnout you're rev's should be at least 4000, I personally go higher. Spin until you see good smoke coming off. (4-5 seconds?) Not wispy smoke.

I'd have to agree that it is "more likely" that it's a track problem. Seems that at the beginning of the year, they've got all of the old rubber scraped off, and probably not using enough VHT either! After some of the big boys lay down some rubber, it should get much better.

Another thought, is the rear suspension. Did you already tweak it? Is it soft enough to squat when you're on the gas? You mentioned it was after the 60', but without seeing you it's hard to guess from here.

If you're getting into the gas, less clutch, at that footage, it might not be soft enough in compression. Or, if you aren't any harder in the gas there, than before there, it might be your Rebound coming up on you. Make sure it comes up as slow as possible.

I am trying to go in the patch that the cars leave. This weekend is a motorcycle shoot out. Its heads up with a pro tree, I am putting 16/44 gears, K&N's and I removed the cat. Should I install the 1000 ohm resister for more fuel?

wow,.....Pro Tree??!!

I've never done the resistor thing, but I've heard/read about others who have.

IMHO, I don't think you will need to do that. My basis is simply that a mostly stock engined 12R is not starving for fuel. It has a few small 'holes' where fuel needs to be increased at one RPM, and decreased in another, but overall, I wouldn't call it LEAN, or needing more fuel.

btw,....I'm running a pipe, but have an O2 sensor in my pipe, so I'm going off of it's readings to adjust the Power Commander....

Took my 02 to the strip, figured light weight was the secret, so I ran the fuel down to one bar before going to the strip. Combine that with my weight of 140{with gear} and this thing ought to fly.WRONG!

I thought I was going to get kicked out for stunt riding, dam thing came up at about 1/2 throttle in ever gear, even when I short shifted. My best time as a stunt rider was a 10.53.

The next week I showed up with 5 gal. of fuel and ran a 10.3 at 140 , still leaving the line like a sissy because of wheelstands. Not bad though considering the bike is the way it came out of the crate.

I installed the Muzzy links [set to 3"drop] and got the strap this week, I will get this bike in to the 9's even If I have to start taking Viagra to do it!

Good luck with the NOS there guy, that stuff would shoot me plum up in to the grand stands !

Yep weight is the key, 180 leahtered up. It works great but now with the extra power the front end powers up in first so I will need the to extend it too.
