Hey Easy, here is one for you. You'll probably have to pass it on to ezboard to have them fix this shortcoming. We need a way to mark individual topics on each forum as read so that we don't get caught up in playing catch-up. For example I already have it set up to only show new posts since my last visit and I mark the forum as read when I'm done with it but, I can't always be here everyday of the week! I will want to ride this summer! Currently if I don't visit at least once a day I often have 2-3 pages of posts to review. This can take hours to catch up with everything, thus incurring significant other bitching. If we had a way to mark each post as read, as we read it we would be able to stop halfway through page 2 and come back later (after fulfilling sig. other desires) to where we left off. I often have to tell her, "but I only have 15 new replies to read till I can mark forum as read" and sign off. Sorry this was long winded but I hope I made clear what exactly I mean. By the way I checked ezboard's FAQ's and could find no reference to being able to do this. Thanks alot

That is a good suggestion if I understand it correctly. Let me check it out. It sort of does that already but it is not quite there. I will see.

For me the color of the link changes to purple when I have read it. It changes back to blue when it is a new link or someone posts.

Does this not happen for you, or did I miss the question.

Currently the threads do have different colors on them (dark blue/light blue) but there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason as to why. After I have marked the forum as read, when I come back the new post's show up with folders beside them. By the way I don't sign off normally I just shut down my browser, I'll try logging off next time.

Have you checked out the link just above the posts next to the login etc. links, it says "show new only" click on that and let me know if that solved your problem.

The colors change on the threads when you click on them and read them. Once someone adds to the thread the color goes back to normal. Just keep clicking and reading the new posts and you will keep everything purple and read.

Thought I'd update you on this Easy, I have been using the show new only button for quite a long while, almost since I came aboard! The new posts do show up as "new only" ie with folder beside them, when I first visit, after having read them in one session they do turn a darker blue. What I would expect would be unless there is no new posts the thread would not show up when I visit again. This in fact occurs, sometimes however when I come visit there are some new posts still with dark blue as if they had been read. These same dark blue posts show there have been new posts(since my last visit) because I have made a point of watching who has posted last.

Ok enough belly aching, gonna start a new topic about how great this site is!

One thing you may want to look at is whether someone has edited their post. If you edit your previous post anywhere in the thread it will bump the thread up even though the date that shows is the date of the last post. This can through you off when looking at the age of the thread.

I will submit this to EZboard as a suggestion or bug.

Good input, thanks.

I know I am new here, but just thought I would say that I have nothing but good things to say about this site - except for the endless ways I have found to eat through my bank account - it has been a real life-saver. Could be that I just have way too much time on my hands. Keep up the good work!
