I think I have a problem.... OK laugh but I'm seriuos this time.... I just started my bike to warm it up. Let it run for a few minutes and came inside to wait til warm. When I went back out my header around the cyclinder was glowing red... This is not normal. I looked at temp and it was in the 10 oclock position..... Any Ideas why???? Muzzy pipe on it... I need answers on this one normally for a car or something I would think converter clogged but there is none..... Thanxxxx Guys..........

Richard....Does the bike seem to be running and sounding normal?.... I have never had that problem with my bike and im running the same set up as you (even your map with a couple closed throttle changes). Does the exhaust sound normal?..Maybe its loaded up with a little bit of fuel, or running a bit to rich..Shouldnt be with the temps we are having here in Kansas

If your talking about where the exhaust meet's the engine

then that is normal for a hot bike that's parked and running.

Mine does it too.

It will cause the effect you've just described.

Because it pumps fresh air into the exaust port.

It was pitch dark fast idle on... Boy you guys made me feel better walked outside and saw a glow. Was like shit!!!!.... Thanxxx Guys....

I basically started it went back inside to put on coat helmet gloves and turn off the computer.... Probably around 6 to 8 minutes....

BTW, Richard, my headers glow near the head too. I don't notice it unless it's very dark.

Well, in the owner's manual it says (p.54) NOT to let the bike idle at warm up for more than 5 minutes or overheating and serious engine damage may occur...how long do you let it idle?
