That's interesting about the lack of adjustment for vacuum. I'll check it anyway.
What did you use for a fuel source? Just the usual container on a drip feed system and extended fuel line?

I've played around with the cams before and do similar to you with markings on cam chain and cam gears.
Haven't had a problem with the tensioner as yet, will see how it performs afterwards if I do have to change any shims. Got the APE tensioner in my zx12r, good stuff!

I certainly intend to take time with this, got annual leave so now is the best time! Out of interest I went to the dealers yesterday while getting parts, and priced a 24,000 km / 15,000 mile service cost here in South Australia - $1800!!
I'll be able to save well over $1000 even after buying the Axial Dial Gauge and other parts!

Cool.
If that dealer hasn’t done this full service with cam removal they are gonna lose lots of money.

Looks like I'll be replacing most of the inlet shims, right on the tightest side! The exhaust side is pretty good though.
Where did you source your shims from Mark?
