So its a 2000 zx12r and I got it last month. Head light relays missing and a switch being used to bypass the relay so the lights could be used.

Ordered up the relays and installed them and no lights. Replaced the switch and boom I have lights. So I have power going to the Relay but its not working.

After reading up on here I noticed alot of headlight problems related to the stator and voltage rectifier. Well as it turns out my stator came loose inside the crankcase and was destroyed inside the case. So after ordering a new one and chasing the wires I noticed the previous owner had already replaced it. With the wrong year, as a result the plugs didnt mesh. So he cut and butt connected the wires.

After installing the new one I noticed I had 3 power wires all the same size and color but I also had two small blue wires leading up to the plug, One that half way up connected to a plug just behind the gas tang and one that lead all the way up to the plug but was not being used on the old stator.

My question is what is that 4th small wire on the stator assembly that is at the end of the plug and does that affect the headlights. If so where does it go because It wasnt being used when I got the bike so I have no loose wires to connect it too?
:puzzled:

those two wires are actually the same and go from regulator/rectifier back to under the tank. That wire should be tied into one of the three power wires from the stator before reg. That wire is what sends power to headlight relay at junction box under the tank bezel. It should hook up to a white wire all by itself under tank at left side of frame. Good luck
