Black Simpson Voyager. It's a car helmet so it's a bit too loud. They gave me a deal on it. But now, I want something else. Need advice. Thx.

You can't go wrong with any good Shoei or Arai (my preference), just make sure it fits properly! When you first try it on you should be able to put your hand on top of the helmet, move it around and feel your skin on your scalp move slightly. It should not be so tight though as to cause any hot spots or areas of discomfort after wearing it for 15-20 minutes. Traditionally Arai's and Shoei's suit one type of head better, oval or round but it's important to try them on. I should say a good friend of mine hit the wall of a building at about 20-30km when he was punted off his ZX-9 by a cager. He was wearing a X-SP, and it definately saved his life, he was actually dead for a short while until the paramedics were able to revive him. He suffered in hospital for a while and has experienced some short term memory loss but is otherwise ok.

hey mark,i used to own shoei's but after my x-9 russell wore out i went to a completly different name brand and got an O.G.K. FF3 HELMET OUT OF THE U.K.the fit and finish are right up there with shoei and arai plus you dont see that many of them around.which i like.you can check them out at www.dexdirect.com. i had a dave jeffries replica but destroyed that one in my get off in sept. so now i hae a silver/black/gunmetal ff3 and it goes great with my silver 12....reddawg

I had a Shoei X-SPII and loved it - very quite and comfortable - got a new Shoei ZII and it compares pretty good with the SP although it is much louder. I wear earplugs so it doesn't matter too much but it is much louder...

I have an Arai RX7-RR4 and am quite pleased with it.. a bit noisy, however, the airflow is awesome!

If anyone is interested, I have a like new Large Shoei RF900 (white) with a clear and lightly tinted shield for sale.. When i bought my first bike earlier this year, i was unaware of how to "fit " a helmet nor did the dealer assist me, needless to say, it was too big and i have been told that i have an "Arai head"..

If anyone is interested, drop me an email and we can work something out...

Eric

I was a Shoei guy til they changed shape, maybe from rf700 to 900? Or 200 to ??.Can't remember. The only one that fits is HJC now.Last year,a nearby daler had a great sale on custom replica helmets, and none fit right.Bell,Shoei,Arai.Like 100 bucks off and i could'nt buy one.I popped on this cheap HJC,and that was the one.Price was cheaper, but the helmets seem to be very good quality.Hope I never test it!!That's sumthin' I just don't need to know.

I have a Shoei RF 900 and I love it! The airflow is awesome and the fit is quite comfortable. It also does not try to lift off of my head at ANY speed. I do have a few concerns though, it is a little loud and I was wanting to try one of the radios for cross bike communications but I am a little leary of puttng all of that money out and then not being able to hear at spirited speeds, also the Zero Grav DB now directs the airflow at just the right spot ( for my height ) to cause a whistle at speed. Have to do something bout that just not sure what yet...

I have a Arai RX-7XX bought it for £245 (nearly half price), in a stock clearout sale. It a good helmet, fits great, but I would have been happier with a little less wind noise.

I have a OGK FF3 , (the one with the green flames). its has all the features the ones costing $800 and it only cost me about $350, and the cool thing is that i haven`t seen another one like it, hell most people never heard of them. One catch i had to buy it overseas they dont have a dealer here in the states, but thats a plus

I agree with lhamp and topend. I too went to an HJC. I wear an LT-20. This thing is so light. Rather inexpensive too, less than $200. I have a green and silver Stryker model with a green iridium lens. Looks really cool when I'm on my green 12. Fit and finish are excellent. Very comfortable helmet and wind noise isn't loud enough to be a nuisance either. All in all I feel it is an excellent buy without sacrificing safety features. It actually has some of the same features as the more expensive Arai and Shoei helmets. Givem a look instead of just going for the most expensive helmet out there.

HJC CL-12, they even have the pocket's for the chatterbox

earpiece's built-in. I used to have a Shoei, and it was fine

but I really like my HJC (and they cost less).
