...at 2000 miles I got 162.5hp/92ft.lbs on a DJ...10,000 miles ago...the only thing "non-stock" at that time was the Motul Synthetic oil...I now have a Muzzy's full system, Muzzy's fan, PC3R (w/201-004 map loaded), block-offs, K&Ns, 17t front sprocket, and waiting for the 48t rear sprocket and yellow box...then I think I'll be getting a custom map...I'll keep you guys posted...

-004 map.... isn't that for the Akrapovic?

If it is then shoot me your custom map. I would like to add more support for the Akrapovic PCIIIr maps, right now it is mostly Muzzy maps on zx-12r.org

I was cooking up a map at work today (on my breaks) that should be pretty good.

I will let you know.

I've been playing around with a formula and calculate that about 180 to 185 hp is needed to get 200 mph on a ZX-12R. Does anyone else have any numbers? This seems a little low.

That could be right. Muzzy did 199.?? with a pipe and nice specs. I think 180-185 could do it, but I think body position, removal of mirrors, cutting downt he tail section fender to at least the license plate level, pumping up your air pressure to dangerous levels (60psi) and royal purple oil, prying back your brake pads from the discs before the run and you will have a shot at doing 200mph. These are the tricks/techniques that people use for the top speed runs. They may even unplug their headlights to gain another HP or so.

Catman12,

I'll send it (hp vs. top speed formula) to you Tuesday. It's on my computer at work. I have an Excel spreadsheet where you can input several parameters (e.g., surface area, coeffecient of drag, weight - it affects rolling resistance, etc.). I'll send the spreadsheet and the formula.

We went 200.8 mph on a stock 12 with NOS making 240 hp at the tire, also had full Hindle exhaust other than that stock 100% see the article in Cycle Canada Magazine. It was my bike that's how I know. Mirrors and all 200 mph is moving let me tell you. Oh yeah did I mention we did it on the Montreal test oval, check out the article. Wayne

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King that is a great issue, and the ZX-12 article I've read 3-4 times is really great.

200+ it's almost like a time machine!!!!

If you can get this issue I recomend it to all.
