I posted over on the ZX12Zone and when my reply came up my classification changed from Novice to Back Stabber.

This is one of the most childish things I can remember.

It looks like I hit a nerve when I voiced my opinion about all the Political Crap going on concerning Archived threads.

If you need an example of how to Not manage a Board, this takes the cake...

I wonder how many other members have been Slandered??

I had a quick look at the "name" issue and didn't think that they could be custom tags. I have a few requests from people, I will have to look at that again. Don't worry the requests are for fun stuff not derogatory.



Things are a little stressed out over there at this time. I thought everything was resolved by me not posting any new material. But I can see that Fish etc. would be a bit stressed out if they are ready to launch their new site and everything has gone out the window. It would make you second guess the effort that may or may not be required to put together another talk forum. I am not saying I agree with Fish and the admins, but I can understand them getting a bit stressed over the decline of action on their sites.



As far as hits go, the only reason I care about hits is so I can keep enough advertising to partially pay for the hosting costs for this site. Only a few providers can handle the size and volume of traffic that ZX-12R.org gets so there is limited bargaining room. At the present time I have enough advertisers to keep the site going forever and that is what I want to do.

I am not sure off what "other stuff" people are talking about. Pretty well everything that has been discussed in email that I am aware of is in the talk forums now.



But again, Fish has not spoken with me in days, and perhaps it is resolved to their satisfaction. We should just let it go.

What kind of a server is your site hosted on and what kind of traffic are we talking about ?



Like unique sessions per day and bandwidth usage per week ?

I get 1-3GBytes of uploads per day with an average of 60Gbytes per month. My host informed me I am getting over 1 million page views per month. The site is around 2Gbytes in size. I had someone offer to host the site on an ADSL connection and he was begging me to take it off after a day. It was a very generous offer though.



My current situation is good, with the advertisers and the deals for trading services everything is quite balanced. The uprate with my current host is very good.



I have had quotes between $200-350 U.S. per month for Hosting my site. Ouch. The good thing is that the Talk Forum is very cheap. I asked for donations last time, but that was not fair, but for 6 months of no ads it was $30 , but that rate will go up with the extra traffic that the Talk Forum is getting, but it won't be too bad, one advertiser will cover it and maybe allow extra for product raffles.

Just get a T3 line to your home and it will be cheaper to do it from there. Or T1 if you want to budget.
