I finaly installed the new K&N filters that have been back ordered since......Hmmmmmmmmm....um, June. When I first looked at them in the box it appeared that they were different than the old model. Not so....you still can't utilize the gas tank rod. As far as fit.....felt the same to me. Had to greese the hell out of them and even then, it didn't feel like they wanted to go in good. They definately move more air though as you will see in the enclosed pic. Dyno results will follow in December when the 02 PMB recieves a new map.

Question for other K&N user's.......Is it me or does the sides tend to buckle on the K&N's when trying to squeeze them down into place?? I am wondering what this might look like in the hole. Hate to be leaving voids down there for dirt to escape.

that k&n looks almost the same as the bmc (except the bmc is red, not black)!

maybe the "rumour" that both come from the same factory in italy IS true! :)

Spread them babies apart before you slide them in and lube the hell out 'em.

The filters, I'm talking about the filters....

Stopped in to see Doug @ Spencer Cycle yesterday.
Picked me up some K & N's and dropped them in last night.
They were pretty tight, getting them fully seated.
No big problems. I also refitted the prop rod, there was just no clips to snap it into.
My stock filters were a little dirty, but not as bad as Mono's

My filters were dirtier than most because for a whole day I was stuck behind RC51's tail pipe, breathing in all his fumes and tire rubber....

Mono - I believe your bike is just running a lot richer than mine.
Dirtier was not what I meant

Mine had some black in the center (see pic) but yours was
really bad.

I did have some grass and a few bugs in there too
