Three or so weeks ago, I thrashed a fairly new member of this board (238mph) because of his extremely anti-police comments.



I have never been one to categorize people in general, and will never do so. At least that is my goal.



On July 4th, I was exercising the 12 on a stretch of road that is totally away from the city, with only 2 cars in view, the first, about 1/4 mile away ahead, the second about the same distance behind.



I was not weaving, not doing stupid shit.



I got a 92 mph in a 70 ticket.



Was I going 92 mph? Maybe, maybe not. Would the officer that pulled me over cut it down to 89, and thus a 4 point violation? Nope.



But you know what? Thats cool. He didn't have to. Its his judgement and his ticket book. I was polite, pulled right over, but we are going by the book on this one, Mr. Blitz.



Now a couple of days ago, a non-riding Texas HP on this board (Five 0 15) basically told me I was a squid, stupid, and deserved what I got. And maybe might die sometime for my lack of judgement.



So what I want to ask of the law enforcement officers on this site is:



1) Why did not one of you come forward and say "Ya know what? I speed too. I've done 150.".



2) Why did you allow another law enforcement officer to chew me out and basically say maybe I deserve to die if I ride like that?



I have to say that I am real dissappointed in the support I got.

4) Epstein



Now if ONE of you can tell me you don't speed above and beyond the posted speed limit on regular occasions, then you are either fooling yourselves really bad, or are eally good at bullshitting yourself. You do NOT drive a motorcycle that goes 83 mph in first gear, and NEVER speed. If you were that much of a law abiding citizen, you'd drive a 250 and be happy.



I've decided that until one of you takes a stand on this subject, I'm not going to get involved in any other censoring of "I hate Cops" posts.



You need to be straight on certain stuff, and this is one really sore subject with me.

Blitz, just my opinion, but any one of the four listed would have likely let you go if they had stopped you (unless you were lying, or otherwise being an asshole, which I know you were not). Probably not fair to put them on the spot like this. Who knows, the guy who stopped you may have had a family member killed by some punk biker! Let's face it, some cops ride and understand, some don't!

Gotta say if they own a 12 EVERYONE of them have hit 92.... Its something you do.... It happens... But there IS A TIME FOR IT AND NOT A TIME FOR IT.... A squid does it everywhere... A smart respectable rider finds a road he knows checks the traffic cuts loose a bit then is done.... Like I have said Police are human too if the own a 12 they like the horsepowerand speed and have done it.... They HAVE speed. 92,82,72 doesn't matter breaking the law is breaking the law.... Don't play goodie two shoes with us,your just like us..... I hate cops acting above us their not.... Sounds like this guy thought he was god or something...... I don't hate cops there are good ones but at least admit it guys some are DICKS.....

What's funny is I have a recently retired career city policeman that works for me now. He gets a real kick out of checking the top speed on my GPS every monday morning (I park the bike in the back of the shop). He's even invited some of his buddies over to show it to them and they all get a kick out of it. Of course, I drive very cautiously in town or any kind of residential areas. I pick my places to go fast very carefully to avoid traffic (and any of those cops that check my gps). Now the APRS (automatic position reporting system) that I have on the bike presents some interesting problems in that they all know that they can look on the Internet and see how fast I am going and where I am at.



I know a lot of cops that I consider to be friends. There are some that I have a tremendous amount of respect for due to the way that they conduct them selves and the job that they do. I have breakfast every Saturday morning with a whole group of Aztec city cops and we always share stories. Around town I conduct my self well,



I've run into a LEO or two on the road and have been pulled over. Every once in a while you find a prick, just as you do in any aspect of life. Most of the time they cut me a LOT of slack... afterall, I still have a drivers license and I could have lost it any one of a number of times.

All I am looking for is honesty. I want one cop on this board to admit they exceed the speed limit, in the right place, like I did.



I know it happens, I've ridden with a cop on this board (good guy) where 150+ was exceeded all day.



I just want someone in Blue to admit to it publicly.

If you have a green or red or PMB you have gone at least 100 mph. It doesn't matter what your profession is. We wouldn't buy a 12 if we didn't want the fastest production bike known to man. Here's the deal. Some people get caught. And, some get away with it. Some are cops and some are not cops. You are like a bro to me and a lot others. So, I as your older bro, get over it. Life is not fair. Today it's your time in the barrel - and tomorrow it's mine, or maybe a cop's. Blitz, we're talking motorcycles here, not life. Picture the World Trade Center on 9/11 and those cops, firemen and other people who without even thinking (you know). I will never bash a cop again. But, as far as fucking with them, well they're fair game. Cops are human and are just like us - no better and no worse.

I don't dislike cops. I do dislike apathy and inconsideration, and "do as I say, not as I do" mentality.

Now, I am only speaking for myself on this subject!!!...Every cop or ex-cop has a different outlook on things...



I didnt make a comment on your situation, because the Cop that wrote you up was doing his job and chose not to use any DISCRETION...There are many reasons why a cop would chose to cut someone a break!!!...Here are some of the reasons, Likes your motorcycle or car, you may have been sincere, likes your attitude, the driver didnt try to bullshit him, an emergency call, wasnt in the mood...As for reasons why he wrote you the ticket, like I said he's doing his job, maybe hates motorcycles, may have a higher speed limit that he feels is justifed for a speeding ticket, by the book kind of cop, may have just had a bike or 2 run on him, may have just finished a report on a mcy accident...There can be many reasons in both categories as to why the cop did or didnt write the ticket...



The reason why I didnt say anything is because most people dont like to hear what cops have to say knowing that cops dont get traffic tickets!!!...It's like Colonel Jessip said, You want the Truth???...You cant Handle the Truth!!!



I dont mean that to sound arrogant, but I dont expect anyone but another cop/excop to understand the way we talk...Thats why cops dont like talking about this kind of thing!!!



I know that I speak for all the cops/excops on this great website, when I say that we the cops here are just here to talk about the ZX12!!!...It gives us back our CIVILIAN STATUS!!!...



I will tell you guys a short story on how people dont like cops...I went out to eat with 6 other couples at a nice Italian restaurant...Everyone talking and having a good time, all the guys talking about their jobs and the BS they have to deal with when a couple of the guys say hey Rick, how come your not talking about your job???...They're smiling and i'm smiling and I say ahhhh, you dont want to hear what i do...They said we sure do, my buddy Bob is already looking at me and I tell them I'm a Highway Cop...The smiles came right off their faces and put me in an awkward possition, of 4 guys looking at me without smiles, thinking of the time when they got pulled over and got a ticket!!!...Thats why none of us cops on this board didnt make a comment!!!

I speed sometimes, sometimes I don't. There is plenty of times and places for speed, and not. Here in western Kansas we have plenty of these places. But I know that they have started flying the Highway Patrol airplane in Kansas because state revenues are down, so chances are I could get nailed.
