Noticed this last night when traveling along at steady throttle the bike just seams to have little surges nothing major but enough to make you think hmmm

The bike is totally standard in every way apart from the rider who is heavily modified.

i had always noticed a bit of surging but more so at night than a warm clear day. if not mistaken its something to do with the map sensors. someone correct me if i am wrong. i ride a 2000 a1

I've felt slight surging on my A1s. I had put it down to crosswinds affecting the airbox pressure, but I don't know that for sure. Those related posts below show that this isn't anything new.

Nah really bad surging today on a long motorway trip. Funny enough it comes and goes. I read somewhere that it was a trait of the zx12r and that a power commander would solve the issue of fueling!!!

I can't afford a £300 PCIII but I have found this.... NITRO X FUEL COMMANDER POWER CHIP FOR : Ninja ZX-12R, ZX 1200R '00-'06 | eBay

Any good?
The surging I have felt was very minor and infrequent. What you're speaking of sounds more like a fuel delivery problem or intermittent sensor failure.

About that Nitro, I've never heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. These bikes have been out of production for awhile now, and virtually every problem is a known quantity, with fixes documented here on this site. Your bike is stock, which makes me believe your problem is a failing component more so than an inherent design flaw. A good place to start would be retrieving your ECU codes. Thanks for the input. I did some further research and believe (as told by Kwaka mechanic) it was the tight emission laws that make the bike lean/rich and very sensitive to sensor input.

Sooo I bought a PCIII today and once fitted I can report if the problem has in fact been rectified by circumventing Brussels nanny state objectives.

I also removed the cat from mine, there is a thread on here with pics, that shows how to do it.:thumbup:
