lowered forks

you do have to be very careful.....

1st the fender under full travel may come up & hit something
rather violently........causing damage
check that asap

the other to be careful about.....
you've changed your front end geometry rather much
can cause a rather sudden turn in while riding
moderate to fast speeds
also can cause the dreaded tankslpper or speed wobble
or head shake no one likes to experience at hi speeds

curious...... why did you drop them soooooo much
i would think a drop of pproc 1/2 inch up front
& raise your ride height in the rear approx 1/2 inch to 1 inch
would be ideal.........really depends on you, the type riding you do
& the roads/track

good luck

lowering front forks.......

im not sure that you understood what i told you......

i'm quite certain i dont understand what you are tryin to accomplish

i know lots of people like that shootout, i'm bad, sat nite
streetfighter look

it does help you come out of the hole....... real good
it can also compromise handling in other situations

which can result in you throwing your bike down
possible injury

as i said b4 i dont think you understand me & im sure i dont
know what you are trying to accomplish

for normal fast street riding i wouldnt lower my forks 1.5 inches

good luck

====================================

Hey, don't forget Tuesday and Thursday nights too.... :)

It really does depend on what you plan on doing w/ the bike, I agree
if you are only going to race and/or street nights, then , Like myself, you should be ok. I have never had any problems either at speed or when riding in a safe and responable manner on the street set up like you ( +straps ), granted my strips are not all the way to the edges of the tires but the toes on my boots are worn alittle more than others.. It changes things bigtime, just take the time to learn what changes before you take her to the limit. More later...

Moody...I have my forks dropped 1 1/4, then strap it down and it lets me put my fingers flat between the fender and air intake!!!...I like just a bit of room just in case there is a bit of travel in the fork in a hard landing from a wheelie that may be a little too high...

i'm mainly a straight liner...curves every now and again...and since i dropped the rear 1.25" with the muzzy bones..thought it would be the best thing to do to get my bike at a downward angle (like stock) instead of the upward angle it was at after i lowered the rear(chopper) ..

I raised my forks through the clamps 1 3/4 inches my rear has muzzy's in middle hole. gives it a nice stance and rode all nite with 160+mph spurts and the bike felt planted.... granted i dont stay at that speed for long.. Any suggestions on alternative methods of lowering and suspension settings?

GRACIAS!!!!

voz...your front is fine as long as you dont strap it, then the fender will hit the air intake...I'm sure your suspention is stiff!!!
