There is a little metal tag that was given to you when you bought the bike with the original two keys (provided you bought the bike new from a dealer). If you give that number to the parts guy at the dealership, he can order you a new key. If not you will have to take your key and get a copy made of it.

Westlake hardware where I live carrys motorcycle key blanks... They also cut mine.... I bought the blanks from Kawi because I didn't know they carried them. Check a hardware store...... They may also have the blanks... I have not had that problem yet....

1reddawg12r When ordering your key (as per the No. stamped on the tag) make sure you state its for a zx12r - It took several attempts before I got a key that worked. Although my local kawasaki dealer ordered keys that were cut exactly the same as the original they would not work because the key that fitted the zx12r was actually longer and therefore would not go to down far enough into the ignition barrel to operate it. All the local stores that also cut keys for kawasaki's only stocked the shorter type key as well, so beware.
