How come there are no posts about the Concours? I am thinking of getting one and wondering who has the best prices? How does everyone like them?

I have a 14 and the Concours. The Concours is my choice for 2 up riding. I have taken in on a 3 day road tripand was able to pack enough stuff for 2 people and bring back shirts and other merchandise. I got mine for 12.2 OTD in Pasadena, TX. I couldn't be happier.

Hey Bob, we added this section to the site so the growth is still happening for the Concours14 area.

I've ridden one and loved it! I would take it over the FJR1300 any day! Shaft driven which is nice for the long road trips, comfortable and has gobs fo power. Not sure if you bring a passenger at times, but an awesome ride if you do. The keypass fob system is very trick and very convenient. The bike looks 10x times better with the hard bags on, thats for sure.

Are you looking at getting one used or new? With the way the economy is now, you would think you could get a good price on one. I would say check around local, but if your serious about buying one and dont mind travelling, I live in Portland and can hook you up with a local dealer here who would give you a GREAT deal on one!

Keep us posted on what you end up doing.

I am thinking about one of these also. I use to have a ZX-11 in '93 and loved the power and comfort and was awesome for two riding as well. My most recent bike was a 2000 ZX-12R and loved it, well the power anyway, lol Wasn't horrible on long trips but not as comfy as the ZX-11 and the wife didn't like being way up in the air when on the 12R. I was looking at a 14 but as I'm getting older but still have the need for speed and want the wife comfortable as well I have been looking at the Concours 1400 as well.

Couple of questions. 1) Are the side cases removable? 2) Are there any performance upgrades for it( exhaust power commander, etc...)?

Yes, you can remove the side cases. Most people feel the Concours14 looks better with them. The nice thing is you can have the cases on and still lane split with more than enough clearance.

Yes, Muzzys amongst others make exhausts and you can get the Power Commanders from Dynojet.

Are you looking at picking up a new one or a used Concours?

i went with the yamaha.... this was for me to haul the wife around with and the rear seat was factored in...

the FJR does a good job at alot of things , tho the truth is all the jap ST bikes are awesome in their own right... you just gotta pick a color...

kaws color selection (or lack of) are pretty lame with this line as well IMHO

I traded my 05 ZX-12 for a Concours 14 last month and love it! The 12 is great but was getting a little painful to ride, the 14 solved that! Seating position is perfect, handles great, and the power is silky smooth. Plus it's the best lookting ST on the market IMHO. I have an Area P carbon slip on coming to replace the rocket launcher this week. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with the C 14!

Goat,

In addition to the AreaP, pull the flies, add BMC air filter and PCV. You will love both the sound of the AreaP and the increased performance from the rest of the mods. BTW, Fuelmoto will sell you the BMC and the PCV pre-mapped for that particular combination.
Fuelmoto.com I believe.

How easy is it to take the side bags on and off? Love the bike and will probably end up getting one. I just wouldn't want the side bags on all the time....
