What is the exact deal with NOS on your bike?

ie. Can you have an empty bottle left hooked up?

Can I have a full bottle on but not physically connected yet?

Or do I have to have the bottle removed but the rest of the hardware is OK?

I am wondering about how to ride to the local drag strip with NOS and riding around normally.

King: It would be great to get some information from you on these from the Canada side of the fence. I am sure that some of the law enforcement from the U.S. side could help out for everyone else.

I think if people are getting NOS that it is important to know where you sit with the law.

Like someone said once, "if you don't know your rights, you don't have any!"

Thanks

If you are being silly you will get hasseled for sure, but in most cases they are not looking for it on a stock bike. I believe you need a liscence to transport any pressurized vessel but I'm sure it has to be more than 2 lbs. If the bottle is shut you should be ok, if it is functional it depends on the knowledge of the cop. I don't know if that's helpful.

I definitely wouldn't be advertising it. I will go out of my way to make sure it is as hidden as possible. I would gladly put a NOS logo on ZX-12r.org but I would never put one on my day to day street bike. I would just be asking for it.

I will try and dig around and see what the scoop is on this. If anyone else finds anything please post it here.

Thanks King.

It says for race use only on the bottle! And we all know racing in not legal on the street. So I would have to say, yes it is illegal.

From my interaction with the law in Canada, I could see them just shooting us on sight. From some of the stuff I am seeing lately I am not so impressed about our supposed "rights" in Canada. I think we only have rights in theory, in practice it doesn't seem to work like that.

In BC, cops can take your license immediately now if they think you are street racing. ie. 2 bikes riding side by side over the speed limit can lose their licenses with the discretion of the cop. So much for innocent until proven guilty.

They take our guns as well. Straight out of your home depending on the latest banned list.

People are so paranoid in BC about guns that I don't tell many people I have them anymore. All you have to do is tell the wrong person and if they think owning a handgun is illegal and report you to the cops for some illegal weapon, the cops will be to your house taking you to the station to verify stuff.

Trust me, it happens. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/frown.gif ALT=":(">

I may be selling my restricted weapons soon. Canada seems to embrace being paranoid rather than being educated on some matters.

I already moved to the states once, and it is close to the time where I will be thinking about moving back.
With the "Free" health care in Canada going down the toilet I am worried about my kids not getting the care they need when they need it.

I just need to pick a state that has no state income taxes, like Alaska or Washington. Does anyone know any other states that have no state income tax?
