The switch for my NOS grounded out and left the NOS on and burned out the solenoid. Does the rebuild kit repair this or do I need a new solenoid?

Take an ohm meter and check the resitance on the field coil. If it reads infinity or open, I imagine your screwed because it probably burned the field coil wiring up. I dont think you they make any kind of repair kit for the field coil, time to buy a new solenoid.

I had a full NOS kit that was on my R1, I was going to us that one until now. They want 98 dollars in Hawaii for another solenoid, guess I will be collecting aluminum cans for the Hindle and a solenoid.
