Holy fuck man! Am I reading the dates on these postings right, like just completed this Oct’ 18’? Here I am fearing the 12’s gotten old with basic parts becoming fewer and then I see you and KZScott putting together something like this!?! This makes me wanna hop outta bed with my woman, go down the street to the garage and make magic happen on my 12 someway somehow like you guys have...fuck a job and getting sleep and all that mess...inspiration truly. Nice work and it looks super pretty. End rant

ZX2871R is getting a few bits. A little attention to the shock. Shorten up the wheel base alittle. I way under geared it at Loring.
By time I got to 20/39 the wheel base really grew. Switching to a oring chain for street duty too.

Gave the factory shock an upgrade. 600lb spring. Nitron internals. Red spring to keep the oem flavor. Lol.

the Torrington bearings on each end of the spring are a excellent touch.

oem zx12 108 grams

oem zx10 79 grams

I swapped out the front forks for zx14 and am using a zx10 front wheel. All a direct swap. (B model). I recently picked up a rear zx10 rim. The zx10 rim with no hardware weighs approximately 9 pounds. The zx12 rim with no hardware weighs approximately 12 pounds. So a solid 3 pound difference.

So the hubs are nearly identical. Same bolt pattern for the sprocket. But on the back side are the differences. The zx10 is 1 pound lighter. :)

The OSR zx10/zx14 kit lines everything up nice.
