Holy fuck man! Am I reading the dates on these postings right, like just completed this Oct’ 18’? Here I am fearing the 12’s gotten old with basic parts becoming fewer and then I see you and KZScott putting together something like this!?! This makes me wanna hop outta bed with my woman, go down the street to the garage and make magic happen on my 12 someway somehow like you guys have...fuck a job and getting sleep and all that mess...inspiration truly. Nice work and it looks super pretty. End rant

ZX2871R is getting a few bits. A little attention to the shock. Shorten up the wheel base alittle. I way under geared it at Loring.
By time I got to 20/39 the wheel base really grew. Switching to a oring chain for street duty too.

Just a few statistics.

oem zx12 108 grams

oem zx10 79 grams

I swapped out the front forks for zx14 and am using a zx10 front wheel. All a direct swap. (B model). I recently picked up a rear zx10 rim. The zx10 rim with no hardware weighs approximately 9 pounds. The zx12 rim with no hardware weighs approximately 12 pounds. So a solid 3 pound difference.

Shock modification looks great!
How much did it cost you to have done?

You could get a spare R1 style lower clevis to go on it to run the R1 swing arm again, but now with that rebuilt shock!

not bad for the first prototype on that system ;)
cant wait for you to drive it. those little ball bearing turbos make boost at such low throttle you would swear its supercharged.
What type of turbo kit was this?
Been scouting about looking for information about what is involved with installing a turbo, the description of a small turbo that almostimics a supercharge has alot of appeal to me, what system did you supply cmg with?

Cal, Scott hand builds his system from scratch. What you see in this thread is all his work. I built the engine and assembled the turbo system Scott sent to me. You need to get a hold of him and he will quote you a price.

Well. It just died. Super dead too. Lol

They say Full Spectrum batteries are good.

Beautiful day for a cruise on the highway.
Except for all the traffic! Sheesh
I pulled the thermostat not to long ago, and boy did that help. 9 o’clock on the temp gauge. After blasting around and getting off the highway, I had to have the fans on. Temp was at 10 o’clock. Bike runs like a stock 12 when you behave. Fuel mileage is normal when not riding like a knucklehead. Lol
