Another local rider has prematurely ended his life purely from stupidity. I am pissed that people are this stupid and make us look bad but I feel for his family. He was a cool guy but I honestly don't want to go to another biker's funeral this year.

You guys be careful out there I know we have some BAD ASS machines but there is a time and place for it. Im not preaching I just wanted to vent...

This is what was posted on a local site
------------------------------------------------------------ I'm sure a lot more of you know Mikeau, than realize right now. He has been a very active rider in Detroit for years.

He was in a motorcycle accident last night. They were riding pretty crazy, weaving in and out of cars, and a lady panicked when the first bikes went by, hitting the brakes, and ultimately closing the intended gap. He struck the car going close to 150mph. He suffered many internal injuries, including bleeding on the brain, and he eventually past away this morning.

There was a funeral last week here in Dayton for a guy who crashed his motorcycle. Unfortunately we could see this one coming because the guy crashed 3 times last summer. His last crash last summer involved two motorcycles where another guy ran into him. This summer he was out with some guys who ride fast and better than he did through the turns. He also had his bike (GSXR 1K) stretched and lowered, went out with these guys on some dangerous roads, couldn't negotiate a turn, went off the road and hit some trees. He died on the scene from a ruptured aorta. Sad but it seemed like it was bound to happen. I feel sorry for his family because he had small children.

Gotta know and ride within you limitations or you end up hurt or worse.

Yes thats aweful no doubt. We make choices and have to live or die with them but I wish young people could have a second chance after something like this happens. I know how it is to be young dumb and invinceable but only by luck or grace or whatever Iam still around to tell about it. Sad for them.

Alien thanks for the offer! But he chose his own fate. Im so pissed because I had a friend die on Aug 2 he was on a 929 that needed to be taken in for the steering damper recall he hit one of the many bad spots in these Michigan roads and now he is gone. On Aug 10th a childhood friend who had just gotten out of jail (one month earlier) Was riding too fast on a GSXR something (couldn't tell because it was destroyed) ran into the back of a semi on the freeway broke every bone in his body except his hands now he is gone. And now this one.. All three could have been avoided but two of the three were definitely rider errors.

I know what you mean about the scenes that you work I am a E.M.T. and I was stationed at a local fire house so I went on all the rescue calls and I have seen some NAAASTY accidents from mopeds to semi's. But the worst scenes are around the holiday season with the suicides...

My thought's are with his family.

I'm in agreement with CrotchRocket, I've really chilled out since I've been going to the Drag Strip. I used to twist it to the max on every stright in between corner's.

Now I ride more defensive on the stright's.

Once you realize how hard it is to stop and how far it take's, Like the turn off from the drag strip from 140+mph, It get's your attention.

Awesome brake's but man ole man ya got some weight going forward like a ballistic missle. It take's a way's to stop.

try it the next time your ride. Take her up to 140 and get on the brake's and get the beast stopped as fast as you can safley.

Ride safe friend's

If Jessie Jame's had a ZX12R I'd ride with him.

You know Tony I ended up going to Royal Oak last Thursday, it was late though, about 9:15 or so when I go there. Was just coming down main st when, in the first block of bikes, saw a buddy I hadn't seen in a while and stopped there. Chatted with him for 1/2 hour or so then left.

It's a free country brother. </p>
