I was reading the October Motorcyclist and came across the Long Term Report re: the 12R. Boehm(editor) mentioned something about a Kawasaki rear shock shim kit which raises the rear ride height without ruining ride quality and bump compliance by jacking up spring preload.
It allegedly makes the 12R steer more crisp around the twisties. My question is this.....has anybody done such a mod to their ride, and if so, what's your opinion?

The Kawasaki shim kit costs $162.00 and includes a 1mm, 2mm, 3.2mm, and two 4.5mm shims. Though, the same mod can be made with a 17mm fender washer for about 39 cents.

Thanks in advance
