:?: I read somewhere that Kaw sells shims for adjusting the rear height at the shock on the new (newer?) ZX9R, and that the shims kit cost $160 but that you could use certain fender washers for next to nothing.
Anyone know anything about this? Like what kind of washers and exactly how its done (or a link to it)? Thanks! :D

Ride height shims

I read an article in Motorcyclist (October, I think) which touched on this very same subject. The shim kit from Kawasaki is way expensive, but you can use flat washers to achieve the same result.....at a fraction of the cost of the shims. I'll have to research that article again, cuz I'm interested in trying it out on my 12r. They said it really increases the responsiveness and eases the effort when flicking it from side to side. I'll get back to you when I find the article.

Huh????

On my 2000 there's 2 nuts on the treaded adjuster stud. I just used these to raise the rear by 4 to 5 mm at the adjuster and locked them down.

Did they change this on the later models?
