The tester for Ride, killed the bike, basically said it was good for nothing but speed and that it cannot match the power of the Busa... You guys should read this article.

Now Cycle Canada said although the speed is close to the Busa, it does lack a bit down low. They said if you wanted a machine that is fast and handles, buy the 12 and if you want something for pure power and speed, buy the Busa.

I wonder if the power down low on the Busa makes a rider feel that it is more powerful and faster?

I used to get Ride magazine every month but after reading that article I might reconcider. The dough head sais he liked the VFR better and felt he could get somewhere faster on that bike.

mono12r - This is the first time I have ever read anything like it in Ride. I usually like the magazine but now it has just pissed me off. I won't buy their rag again! How unprofessional can you get?

RIDE is a UK magazine, usually very good....

If anyone here has read a Cycle Canada mag, you can be sure that it is a well written magazine, much better than cycle world and the others like it.

Guys,

I have the article by Ride.

There were two testers...the one who wrote the article questioned the relevance of the bike. He was a middle aged man who though the vfr was better and could not understand the point of having such a missile!

The second tester literally took the piss out of the author calling him an old fuddy dudduy. He loved it and said so, totally disagreeing with the author.... so don't take this to heart as he does have a point...is a 12 really necessary?

To a middle aged fart....no. To someone with blood flowing through their veins...oh yes!

Bike magazine just did a 5 way test ...zx12, busa, xx, zzr12 and fjr1300. 5 testers - 4 went for 12R and one for xx (!). The 12 won....for all out speed, acceleration and handling. They said the busa "badly needed an update" and it came last in at least one riders eyes!

This about sums up what "Bike " had to say about the 12.

"In all my years with Bike, testing virtually every bike launched on the 2.5 mile runway at Bruntingthorpe's proving grounds, never have I been so utterly overwhelmed with the power of a bike as i was when testing the ZX12R. The hayabusa is capable at the top end and the Gixxer 1000 is no slouch in the acceleration department but with the ZX12R you have it all."
