that 100 degrees statement.....is that with the heat index figured in? Down here in South Florida, on really hot days (everyday almost)..the weather crew averages the heat and humidity to come up with a "heat index", described as "what the temp really feels like". With the heat index, sometimes it gets to 108-110 around Fort Lauderdale. On days like like that, my 12 stays in the garage. Even if you rode around butt nekkid, you'd still be sweltering from the 45 thousand BTU's of heat that the bike kicks back at ya! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/glasses.gif ALT="8)">

I rode about 275 to 300 miles yesterday. I think it was around 98 degs and very humid. Rode up from Charlotte to VA via I-77 and Highway 21. I bet the temp dropped 25 degs in the mountains. Man those hills are beautiful!. Hit a t-storm in Sparta, NC and it was cold, but, felt good cooling off. Hit another t-storm on the way back home at I-77 and I-85 intersection. Only stopped for gas - It was great!

I just sold a buddy of mine my old bike and he showed up today with shorts on, a short sleeve shirt, and tennis shoes. I just gave him the number to the local squid chapter here in town   I quickly let him know that no matter how hot it is you'll never catch me wearing shorts or short sleeves

Wow! Datz an old post. I remember that ride. I rode the 12 up to a friend's cabin in Sparta, NC, which is about 10 miles south of Independence, VA. I've been wanting to ride there again, pick up the Blueridge Parkway and ride it to Asheville. That would be a very nice ride for a Saturday. Rode the Wang to work today. Spose ta be very hot with T boomers this afternoon.
