hi my good friends.

my 2004 12, have a gipro ds indicator on it. sometimes it showed the wrong gear, depending on rpm and so on. then my clock and odometer started resetting itself:(!!!!

my first thought was that there was a bad connection somewhere around the dash, and dug around. found none. then I started investigation the GPS. it looked fine, but since I already had it out I just cleaned it. when I noticed the ground wire that were attached to one of the screws. tried to understand why it were down there. and then I found out how that GPS system works. its a ground through the gearbox system. which means, that the whole info displays ground is connected down there. the fault was that because of oil and grease from the chain, it became corroded and had a bad connection. cleaned that up, and changed the Phillips head screws, that mounts the gps to unbraco heads instead. and now it works:) it also affects the fuel level meter.

so if any of you guys have any issues revolving a bad info display. look there first!!!!!


AAAAAND PS here is a pic from the tire after a trackway. I thought that I would try the new pirelli Rosso 3 tire! daaaaaaaaaamn it hooks. and its a bit more edgy. so it is more steering happy in the corners, and have more surface when in an angle!!!

Well done for finding your fault. Do you not have a loom frame earth under the rear of the left side infill panel.
Just done a little more looking, and there is the Black earth wire that changes to Black/blue on its way to the clocks. The zx9 uses this black/blue wire also, but there both connected to the frame under the fuel pump mounting, I can't understand why they just don't use the Black yellow at the clocks. Maybe its to help diagnose problems, and so you don't loose everything in one go.

I used a Rosso III last track days at Phillip Island, and found same result as you. My son who was following me on the track said I was leaving nice long black lines coming out of certain corners! Grip was excellent, and yes the lean angle very good too with plenty of grip on the side.

Thinking of putting these or the SuperCorsa SP on for next track days on my H2, my son used them on his KTM Superduke 1290 on track, as the Bridgestone RS10's on there now (stock) are good but wear is bad and I think the turn-in is too slow - just my feeling.

Oh, and good find on your electrical issue! (thought I'd better acknowledge the original thread topic after this small hijacking!).
