Any suggestions on what to buy or more importantly what not to buy? Is the installation complex or require adjustments? What are the drawbacks of a steering dampener other than the obvious..cost?

Thanx for your help. Under hard throttle, just as the wheel starts to lift, I get a brief headshake....I don't want that to develop into a tank slapper.

I also have the scotts on my 12 and an Ohlins on my R1. They are both actually made by Ohlins. If you check the Ohlins website you'll see the"scotts" there with Ohlins inscribed on it. Obviously they are both great but I like the "scotts" version better on the 12. About $385 at cyclemall.net

Speed is a question of money......How fast do you want to go???
Edited by: Kawracer at: 8/26/02 6:13:33 pm

Ninjabob,
What model of 12 do you have?
My 00 is stable at all speeds!
Yes, you get a little headshake when you are gassing it hard but, nothing to write home about. The majority of fast sports bikes all do this anyway.
After yesterdays track day even at 100+ MPH cranked over hitting bumps it was fine.
I know that the 02 is a bit skittish at times, but I beleive the 00 and 01's were all rock steady.
Regards
Ted

A lot of guys that race around here, VIR and other tracks use the Scotts. And they seem to ride pretty fast.

Try again, Sparky!
