Factory spec for the t.p.s is 1.084-1.086.Any of you fella's getting gains from adjusting out of this range.(higher!)

Believe me you don't wanna go lower.i had a stutter problem for about a month now.F..n drove me crazy,must of checked everything.Finally i check t.p.s,and sure as shit it's set way lower than spec.The funny thing is i checked it a while back and got a 1.085,didnt even add not one new mod,and bam t.p.s is way off.only thing i can think of is the bolts were loose maybe,it doesnt take much of a turn to move the setting.so i set it back,stutter gone!My baby is back again running 100 times better down low.

so maybe things change after mileage,but who knows.

I do see some of you are going as high as 1.16,has this mod been settled yet as to what the proper setting should be?

Is t.p.s. the throttle position sensor? Is it hard to set? How do you do it? (uh, where is it heheh).

Do you have a power commander? I read on the board somewhere that you should not adjust t.p.s if you have one.

I think the testosterone is getting too big for me.

i just wanted to know what t.p.s. setting i should use,seems 1.085 still makes me stutter a bit.and there was a mod here that said you can go up to 1.16,i set it high and it took the stutter away,but i dont wanna hurt nothing.

as far as rematch goes my bike broke down on the way home,not while i was racing super dave,so he won fair and square.my t.p.s was off in the race making me stutter from 1-4k,but who uses under 4,000 r.p.m's while dragging,i very seriously doubt turning my tps up will make a difference.

Uhhhh...actually I don't have a Power Commander...I took it off, the bike is running much better without it. How hard is it to set the tps? Need any special tools, etc?

tps setting is easy.needs checking every 5k miles or so.and if it is off,setting it back to a correct position will put asmile back on your face,it did mine.if you really need help setting it:

See post"micron exhast" 7/16/02.

you will need a hollow torx bit from any napa for about 2 for $5.00.
