:scared:

If they indeed build this thing and unleash it on the world, well, I don't care what it looks like! That will be what it takes to open my wallet for another sport machine. Forced induction 300hp beast. Yep. That's a big enough upgrade.

But I don't smell 2-stroke oil. :-(

God, what I would give to smell 2-stroke oil coming from a street machine again.

I had friends that owned H1's, H2's and RD400's and they were quick. I mean really quick. Even back in the day there wasn't a 4-stroke in town that could keep up with my buddies 500 triple. He would (and did) smoke Honda CB-750's like they were turned off.

Fact.

I know technology changes and I love superchargers and turbochargers, but man - if Kawasaki offered a real rendition of the H1 i would be at the door and pay cash.

Read about the H2 in UK bike press this morning
2 things stuck out, they can't do it on zx10 as it won't comply for racing
If they do it on a 1000 it will make the 14r redundant as it will be more powerful
So it will either be a small capacity high power(approx 500/600cc)
Or hopefully a full bore 14r with crushing HP figures
They are revealing it in Germany in October apparently

It don't make much sense to outdo your flagship model machine by a smaller machine. Bad for business. What would they need a big cc motor for then if they are pulling that power from a smaller engine? the engine they are referring to (and from what I have seen over the past couple years) is the engine in their water ski, the 300z or whatever it is. The monster of the waves. It's a supercharged 1498cc engine I believe. Why would they completely reengineer a new engine when they could save massive cost and use an existing platform and focus more on the machine as a whole itself?

Sure. They can pull big hp numbers out of the small engines. They cannot pull big torque numbers out of a smaller engine, unless like stated above, they make it a 2 stroker. In the 4 stroke world, there is no replacement for displacement. Give me a strong freight train 180hp over a weak pinto 210 any day. Hp is the measure of work done over time. The wattage of the bike. The torque is the current. It's what kills.

It wouldn't take much to adapt a supercharger to the existing 14 engine.

I do not usually feel agitated by such news, but I must say this time they cach my atention. Hope it will be some super new technology that will blow our minds. Mixed aerospace stuff with moto gp and f1 :)
But it could be misfire like B-king....

Agreed,no replacement for torque, but if you look at the cars and even F1 they are reducing engine capacity and upping HP,even premier manufacturers such as Bently are down sizing engines and increasing power.
F1 motors I think are 1.6 turbos and are exceeding 700bhp with imposed fuel limits per race.

I'm not totally 100% about this
But I'm sure I remember the most powerful qualifying engine in F1 was a 1.3 turbo that put out 1500hp,back in the turbo days of 25 years ago.
Iv had superchargers on cars, they are much better than turbos.turbo cars Iv owned have had to have 2 turbos, one in the lower rev range and one for the upper.
Chargers give instant thrust and better mechanical traction.
Anyways I'm very excited by it all, less weight more power,
Happy days,

Yea, but there's more engineering than just the hp numbers. In order to utilize that power, you need to get it to the ground effectively. If you are running your engine in high revvs all the time, then you are out of your torque curve anyways, and into hp realm. But if you want that balls to the walls acceleration, which is what the race is about these days because of the restriction, you want big torque.

The LSR guys will always mod their bikes for top end. The main demo and target for hyperbikes is the guy who can ride down to the strip and lay down a monster 1/4 to brag about, then ride to work the next day. This is why the hypersport big cc class will stay...

Remember the 2 strokes, they had fuck all low down
But shit, they were the most fun
I still remember my smokers, some of my happiest days, waiting for the mental powerband and the rush all at once.they were fun
Charger will deliver torque instantly,I loved the 750 era, they were top bikes back in the day.
My only complaint about my 14 is the weight,so to have the power with agility, count me in,
Long time since iv flicked a little bike around,it was good fun then and will be even better with big HP.

Again 12r,not sure about this 100%, but I'm sure the F1 cars this year are putting more torque out than the 3.5 litre V8s of last year
