Experimenting with gearing lead me to try the 18/44 combo
thinking this may help keep the front wheel down ...........
wrong! The "emerald express" will still hoist the front with
ease!!Only been for a short run(20km) but I think I'll have to
do some more indepth research!!!!!!!!!

If you're not breaking the law, you're not riding!!

Mono,
My first impression was that it has "tamed" the bike down
abit which it has in some respects,if you have a flat spot up to 3k it will make it seem worse, but after that it seems smoother and is really nice for open road work cruising up to
130kmh before you hit that patch of vibration at 4.5k.Top
gear seems a little flat as you would expect with the gearing
like that ,but I haven't run it hard yet!!
If you like !st gear wheelies you'll love the 18/44 as you can
just roll on (not even wot) and she'll lift off like a fuckin'
747!!!!!!!from 70kmh through to 140 or so.Comes up slower
and more controllable too.
Previously I have tried 17/46 & stock 18/46 and now the 18/44
which I will do some more miles on before I come to my final
conclusion, but I think gearing is a personal preferance thing.

If you're not breaking the law, you're not riding!!

Naturally 18/44 is going to tame it down... You went from a 2.55 stock gearing to a 16/44=2.44 higher gearing. remember the higher the number the lower the gearing.... You geared it for top end... if you want low end and brutal power stick a 16 tooth front on with the 44 rear which =2.75 final drive... If thats not enough acceleration stick a 16/46=2.875 on it.... You geared it for top end taking away low end power.... Right no a Busa would bitch slap you..... Just my thoughts....
