Me and my friend both have the stock 207 on the rear we both are running the right puresser be his is gone bald and is showing belts at 3000 miles is this right the out side of the tire looks brand new

He's probally just riding more aggresively than you. My 02 is at the shop getting new tires right now. The shop guys thought it was funny that my 208's were showing cords at around 2800 miles <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

My stock tires did spin badly....

And almost all riders will wear out the center of the tire and the sides will still look new. I have less than 1/8" chicken strips, but there was still plenty of tread on the sides. I don't know anyone, who rides on the street, who has ever wore the sides out first. My stock rear 207 lasted about 6000km (3600 mi). I did experience the tire breaking loose under hard acceleration and quick jump starts. My second rear I tried a Bridgestone BT010. I have not experienced any slippage yet and I have just over 7000km (4400 mi) with probably an additional 1000 mi to go with the amount of tread left. I've been much impressed with the Bridgestone.

My next tires I'll be trying is are the Pilot Sports.
