Are the A and B model transmissions interchangeable? I have a B model that has a bad third gear. There are two A model transmissions on ebay right now.

yes, there are a few differences, but the big parts are the same. the later style uses a thicker shaft for the shifter, but just use your old one. i believe drums are the same too.

Does anyone know for sure? I am thinking about getting later model transmission assembly for my 2000. Having it undercut and installed.
Thoughts?
