Do you guys use RTV at all on the gasket other than what is shown in the service manual? How about adding a thin strip of oil on the valve cover before placing it on the gasket?

I did search...I just want to make sure this doesn't leak again after I zip it back up.

Taking the cover off was big fun.

I just seal where the manual says, I do smear oil on top of the gasket to help the cover seat. If your re-using a gasket its important to thoroughly pick out all the old sealant.

Thanks a lot Scott. I had some Black hanging around from when I had my 72 Roadrunner so I added it on.

Patient is mostly zipped up now. I giving it a cleaning before putting it all back together.

Once you get the clean air stuff off it feels like you have all sorts of room. A little tricky in getting the TQ spec measured.
