I know this question has been asked before, but I could not find it. My left front is warped. I have had EBC Kevlars on for awhile, and my dealer says they need the bike for a WEEK to inspect. They are behind. My question is, has anyone had a warped rotor covered under warranty? Will it be worth it for me to wait, and find out whether or not it will be covered.

PS Lastly,Anyone know of a place to get a good price on a rotor. New or used? THANKS FOR ANY HELP. J

There is a company up here in Canada (out of BC I think) that makes aftermarket rotors for Kawi's exclusively. The guy has a machine shop, and I guess he likes the ZX line, 'cause that's all he makes. Prices are very reasonable, and considering one of your dollars is worth like 872,000 of ours, you'd probably come out on top... I can't remember what the shop is called, but I'll get the link off a buddy of mine (who has been to his website) when out we're out for a rip tonight.

How old is your bike?

If you're still within your warranty period, put the stock pads on before sending the bike to the dealer. That way, Kwak can't blame you for the warped rotor. If they see the EBC Greens, you know they're going to look at you like you have three heads for trying to get coverage under the warranty. Clean the calipers seals with brake cleaner spray.

Why does the dealer need a week? Why can't he take a digital photo of the rotor lying flat and e-mail it to the mfgr rep? Sounds like they've already decided that they're going to deny the warrany claim. They need a week to formulate a reason, I guess.

MB...My left front rotor on the Red 2000 was warped after 600miles!!!...My dealer warrenteed it!!!...No Problem!!!

The key is the mileage...Talk to your dealer,if you know what I mean...

I have replaced two pairs of rotors on my ZX9R under warranty (first on the original warranty, second under extended). The second pair was replaced under what the dealer called "Kawasaki good will", whatever that means.
