New to this cool forum, happy to join you guys n gals :mfclap:
Riding has been a life long DREAM since the day I taught myself how to ride a bicycle that was unusual in that I HAD to pedal non stop or it would stop:headscratch: -lol . Evil Knievel was my role model- I had his lunchbox and thermos:thumbup: , I rode almost everyday from kindergarden through 12th grade always imagining I was on a motorcycle :loco: unless it was snowing! I used to love to jump and do Wheelies (can anyone here relate???)
I even found a 3rd grade "paper" where I had to say what I wanted to be when I "grow up", I wrote...I want to grow up to "ride a motorcicle" (yeah I misspelled lol)
I took over a year to pay for my first streetbike (2001 Champions Edition Yamaha R6) to a great guy that luckily n thankfully didn't need the $$$ too soon, and luckily I paid it off just in time because my 2004 Hemi Durango blew its engine. Of course he didnt give me the bike until I finished paying him
Anyway, if you want to find me in the Washington DC Area, you can find me riding from Fort Washington Maryland (route 210/oxon hill rd) crossing over Woodrow Wilson bridge, then down route 1 south (or George Washington pkwy to Mt Vernon) to alexandria virginia about 10am then up the George Washington Memorial Parkway to Bethesda Md (near Montgomery Mall- 1st exit on 270) about 3pm then to back to fort washington going across memorial bridge down 495 south about 2-3 am
rain, cold, super strong winds, and upcoming unbearable summer heat and humidity...I ride through it!
I just got my motorcycle license less than 2 years ago. It was a DREAM come true. I got the highest score on the riding portion of the motorcycle test and perfect on the written, but the real test is learning the streets. I started shaving my full head of hair since 2002 so I wouldnt get helmet hair, I got contact lenses too, so when I would finally get a motorcycle I wouldnt need to wear glasses... ALL because I knew one day I would be riding :zxgreen: So a lot of preparation has gone into my DREAM. Man!, never thought I'd write this much but it is an introduction after all
I use a KNOX back and chest protector, VEGA V-Tunes bluetooth helmet, black motosport pants, ICON Stryker knee and elbow guards, Knox Handroid Pod gloves, Icon black Daytona jacket, Spidi shoes and tan AFX motorcycle construction boots. I get lots of my stuff from sportbiketrackgear.com ,Ebay or Craigslist.
I have a 2000 Gorgeous Green ZX12R THAT I AM IN LOVE WITH! She has 12k miles, she needs a lot of work both mechanically and cosmetically.

I already have a new stator, crankshaft cover with gasket (prior cover was all scratched) clutch lever (the one it had is broken), shift lever and shift rod, two new K&N air filters!, EBC HH front and rear brake pads, NGK spark plugs and a tag relocator ( im trying to get a tag that says "XXX PWR" meaning Explicit Power :super:.
I noticed there are a few missing bolts for the fairings, the chain looked terrible until I degreased it and lubed it, its an awesome gold DID chain.
She has a great tinted bubble windshield and REALLY REALLY needs some new tires. I hope to be able to share as I work on her and hope all of you share info with me too and are patient with me as I try to figure out how the forum works, etc.
Here is a Mod I hope to get soon...

Sorry this turned out VERY long lol
Hope to hear from everyone all around the world on your stories too about finally getting into motorcycling!! Please share!!
