I went from a 2005 ZX12 to a 2009 Honda VTX1300R, basically this picture captures my before and after (different years and colors). That vtx is an "S" model, basically it is an R with Spoke wheels.Put some miles on it, riding with a long time friend and his Honda VTX. Some of the worst crosswinds I have ever had the misfortune of riding in but overall still a good day.

My idea of a Honda crusier. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago.I went from a 2005 ZX12 to a 2009 Honda VTX1300R, basically this picture captures my before and after (different years and colors). That vtx is an "S" model, basically it is an R with Spoke wheels.
Two great bikes in that picture of yours...
DonCMG, when you say you cut the brace off the '98 cbr swingarm, what part exactly? The bottom of the swingarm still looks to have a brace on the bike, or am I not getting it?
Is this an otherwise straight up swap?
Now do mine?Don
I bought the Honda arm ($60) and cut the brace off of it.
Then I welded it onto a stock zx12 swingarm.
I did not want round tube. The Honda has the square
look I was after. But on the inside it is actually triangled. Clears chain great. The Honda brace is dimensionally correct for the 12 swingarm to under brace. Then I bought square aluminum stock cut two
front braces, used a angle grinder and files to fit them. Welded it up and boy am I happy with how it looks. Zx12 swingarms are plentiful and cheap.
honda arms are too.
I cut out the end and then boxed it in to clear the rear caliper. Was easy.
